Iron Man 2 Blu-ray problem.

It will randomly freeze at points during the movie. Then if I press Fast Forward it will Rewind instead. Anyone else having problems like this?

Sounds like a hardware issue. What player are you using?

An LG LHB953.

Had it over a year and never had this problem before.

What mode are you watching it in? The standard mode, or the expanded experience where the extras segments that get inserted?

Also, make sure your firmware is up to date. LG's are notoriously glitchy.

standard mode.

I can't find a firmware update anywhere for this thing on LG's website.

EDIT: Never mind I found it.

You're holding the remote upside down.

Oh, and not having freezing problems. Is it freezing in the same places each time?

Possible dirt inside the player itself? Maybe unlikely but have you checked the disc for any fingerprints or scratches?

Watching IM2 right now and having the same problems (was searching to see if it was only me). Also have a LG player. Movie has frozen 4x thus far, not half way through, and when the fast forward or rewind button is hit it either does the opposite or skips several chapters behind.

Checking firmware after the movie.

LG makes the biggest pile of shit blu-ray players ever, only thing worse then their blu-ray players are their customer service. I just replaced my LG player, it started out with glitching, then it just stopped playing blu-rays at all - search online, there are loads of people with the same issue, LG refuses to fix or recall the players in question......

I also had a problem with a Sony player. Once I updated the firmware all was fine. The firmware was released like a day or two before Iron Man2 was released. Chances are Iron Man 2 has some whacky new programming to stop back ups

I got the same problem

Mine in on Samsung BD 3600

On the loud parts of Iron man 2 it just pauses - I didnt notice the forward and rev being backwards though.

I'm also having problems with the new "how to rain your dragon" BD. But there the audio just stops.

I dont think Samsung is keeping up with the firmware upgrades

Re: Iron Man 2 Blu-ray problem.

I have the same problem with IronMan2 and the Prince of Persia- film freezes and if you hit reverse or ff it goes in the opposite direction or jumps way back. I've got the LG BD390. I downloaded the latest software/firmware upgrade and still have the problem and LG still doesn't have a solution.
I also had had a problem with Jonah Hex - it wouldn't load and came up with an error saying "check disk". Found some info on line and in the set up I changed the BD Live to "prohibited" and cleared the internal memory. Now the disk loads. Has anyone tried setting it to "external usb storage" and used a usb flash drive greater than a 1Gb (their internal storage is only 1 Gb) to see if that cures any of these problems?
LG appears to be ignoring all the bluray problems, they're customer service is no help -I imagine they're sales will slowly shrink with all this negative feedback.
I think my next player will be a PS3.

It's just these latest models that seem to suck, as the BD370 and 390 were pretty darn solid. I think LG rushed the 550/570/590 to market and obviously skimped on the QA. Of course, most of the problems are probably related to the PITA known as BD-Live.
