I found this surprisingly enjoyable. Tom Cruise's strange public persona actually helped I thought.

I will consider picking it up when released.

I'll definitely be giving it a rent.

I enjoyed this enough that I'd buy it for $15 or less.

Not a great movie but I'll rent it and wait for a bargain. I enjoyed it enough to own it of the price is right

Regardless, While I can't say I will buy this film, but I did enjoy it and thought people were way to harsh on it. It was a fun stupid pop corn movie...

Europe are getting an Extended Cut, but Fox hasn't announced one for the US edition.

Whats up with that?

Complaints about the artwork were just a charade. The studio did extensive audience polling prior to the release and knew damn well that the negative results they got were almost all in regard to Tom Cruise. But they didn't want to admit that publicly, of course.

Funny I thought he was the best part but I'm not a real Cameron Diaz fan. Not that she's bad but I just don't find her attractive, her acting is mediocre and I wonder why everyone swoons over her.

The first artwork may just be temporary. The combo pack has been added. There's also a "holiday combo pack" that apparently is the same set, minus the digital copy.

I did as well. Nonetheless, the public at large is sick of him.

Says it right here: http://www.amazon.de/Knight-Day-Exte...5950597&sr=8-2 They even have the runtime, 117 minutes.

If we arent getting it, im starting to worry about if we will get the A-Team Extended Edition, which is 15 minutes longer. The UK is already confirmed to be getting that.

I didn't care for it enough to invest more than $20 into it. I'll wait for the most basic release to drop in price.

That Holiday pack is strange. The only thing it lacks appears to be the digital copy and the prices between it and the 3-disc combo pack are several dollars. Doesn't make alot of sense. I wonder if the holiday pack is in a dvd case?

I am hopeing its not in a dvd case, but that was a thought i had when i noticed how they have package shown on the page. But the more i think about it the more i think its probably not in a dvd style case.

I mean it could be but its probably not a dvd style case. I think its just something fox decided to do for the holidays to boost sales for the title and once christmas has passed it will be discontinued with only the non holiday combo pack being in print.

Mr. Cinema 11-10-10 06:06 PM

Re: Knight and Day - 11/30/10

BN.com's description says "mixed media set" for the holiday pack. I'm starting to think that bundle is some sort of slipbox with the dvd and BD packaged separately inside. And Fox is charging $5 more for the convenience of the combo pack containing the DVD and DC as an all in one package.

Other than that, I have no idea. BN even shows the side by side version of the holiday pack as a separate listing. So maybe one holiday pack is each case back to back, and one version side by side. Looks like alot of trouble for a movie that only did $258 million worldwide.

Mr. Cinema 11-23-10 08:56 AM

Re: Knight and Day - 11/30/10

Someone on blu-ray.com has confirmed that the holiday pack contains separate BD and DVD versions in their own cases. So basically if you want the digital copy, you'll be paying at least $4 just for that.

I'll take the holiday set.

I know I'm in the minority and the extra disc is a forced purchase and money for the studio, but I wish I could buy the rental movie only discs. Even if they are only a few bucks less, I don't care for or watch many extras so I'd rather save the cash.

The Holiday box is huge. From the size of it, it will hold the blu-ray and DVD case side by side.

Mine came in from amazon today, and inside the cardboard box is a single disc standard bluray case laying ontop of a standard single disc dvd case.
This is a nice setup so if someone wants to sell off the standard dvd, you arent stuck with a empty disc hub.

sorry my picture is so blurry, my phones camera is not that good.

Yeah, it's weird that they have two different styles of the Holiday Pack: side-by-side and stacked.

I love how the Extended Cut is available to rent and purchase on iTunes, but unavailable to purchase on DVD or Blu-ray.

That is complete bullshit - does the digital copy in the combo pack have the theatrical or extended cut? Looks like original theatrical runtime is 109min and the extended is 117min. Strange move by Fox and hopefully not something that will become a trend.

Has Fox ever released the extended cut of Mr And Mrs Smith on blu-ray? At least it's available on DVD.

Well this put me over the top on whether to buy it or not.

Re: Knight and Day - 11/30/10

I picked up the $20 set at Best Buy. I'm sure if the extended cut ever shows up on BD, it'll be dirt cheap.

In any case, do we even know if the extended cut is any sort of improvement over the theatrical cut? It could just be useless padding.

Solid Snake 12-01-10 03:46 PM

Re: Knight and Day - 11/30/10

and with all that padding it still doesn't make Diaz better looking.

RocShemp 12-01-10 06:37 PM

Re: Knight and Day - 11/30/10

Just finished watching it and it was loads of fun and well paced. I think an extended cut would only ruin the pacing.

So what's going on with the Extended Cut? I've been working in Macau for the past 5 months and haven't been keeping up. Knight and Day came out on Blu-Ray 3 weeks ago and has both the Extended and Theatrical Cut on it. Does the US edition not have the Extended Cut?

The US DVD and Blu-ray only contains the original theatrical cut.
