Nope.

Troll 2 has gotten to be an Internet meme, it's been in the media quite a bit lately, the Best Worst Movie doc has drummed up a lot of press, the target demo for Blu-ray is more likely to buy this than, say, one of Roger Corman's Poe adaptations...it's just an easy title to market for Halloween.

With the way MGM's been treating their back catalog, you're better off waiting for someone else to issue their most respected classics and let them churn out stuff like this in the meantime. I love Troll 2 and have since I first caught it on HBO all the way back in '93 or '94, so for me, at least, this is great news.

If this has some special features, I'll buy it right away. Otherwise, the double feature DVD is fine for me.

If I remember correctly, Troll 2 had a pretty good transfer when it used to pop up on Monsters HD. Humanoids from the Deep also ran pretty regularly on that channel and that BD turned out quite well. Not to mention that both Magic and Vampire Circus are getting Blu-ray releases. It's kind of weird that a lot of the obscure cult films that used to run on that channel are turning up on BD now. Let's hope Fright Night Part 2, The Video Dead and The Incredible Melting Man are next.

It's possible. Psychomania is coming to BD in October. A great movie, but one that I wouldn't have expected to see a blu release.

I didn't know that. The last time I gave MGM HD a shot, the picture quality wasn't very good. Have they stepped it up?

just terrible i mean mgm still has not released much better titles than this on dvd even like Poughkeepsie tapes or The Video Dead still dont even have a dvd release yet and troll 2 is getting a blu-ray WTF???

With a $13.xx price tag I had to preorder this sucker, I remember watching it back in 1994/5 as a child and it actually scaring the crap out of me, something I've become embarrassed of revisiting the film a couple years ago in college.

But I have to say in all my years collecting films this has to be on the list of the top 5 blu-ray releases I would never have even imagined coming out!

Wrong. Flippers, no matter how awesome the movie is, are never a good thing. They're just not.

This is so vague it barely constitutes an update, but Moises Chiullan of Hollywood Elsewhere informs me that his information says the disc does include "extras". Doesn't indicate what, but it's nice to know that this disc won't be barebones.

I love the musical number in the first film with the singing mushrooms and trolls. Also, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is in it. Too bad that couldn't hit Blu as well.
