The Robe: Scorcese sound-sync issues.

I just purchased the Blu-ray of THE ROBE (1953) and (is it me?) but the introduction that precedes the film by Martin Scorcese seems to be out of sync with his lip movements. Has anyone else's copy of said film have this problem? Once the film begins there are no sound Synchronization issues, or with any of the other extras.

And as a side note, has anyone noticed this sound sync issue on other blu-ray films ie: THE SEARCHERS blu-ray.

No, that's just how fast Martin Scorsese speaks.

I'm a fan of the sword and sandal epics... IMO, Ben Hur and Spartacus and Ten Commandments have aged well... Quo Vadis, while I appreciate the effort and its place in film history, is silly and cheesy.

If The Robe resembles Quo Vadis moreso than Ben Hur, I'll steer away from it...
Personally I like The Robe much more than Quo Vadis, though it too is a worthwhile movie to watch. If you were unhappy with the religious aspects of Quo Vadis, you are unlikely to find The Robe appealing. The Robe is fundamentally a Christian movie more than a secular epic. The Blu-ray is quite excellent of it.

Wonder if they're even going to release the sequel Demetrius and the Gladiators. Always felt they were about the same in terms of story.

The sequel is very good and a must-see if a fan of The Robe. I doubt it ever comes out on Blu-ray.
