You people complain about the weirdest things.
Also, I don't get the impression from the review that the 2nd disc has the movie on it except in Digital Copy form...I feel like people are misinterpreting. So Disc 1 is a Blu and Disc 2 is a DVD. Big deal.

Re: Get Him to the Greek - 9/28/10
I watched it last night. I wasn't expecting much...the trailers never really interested me. I found it more entertaining than I was expecting and it was pretty funny. I thought Russel Brand would annoy the fire out of me and I am not the biggest Jonah Hill fan but they managed to not annoy me in this movie.
I would probably consider buying it later on if it drops down to 9.99 or lower. It would be a fun one to watch again.

I saw the commercial saying that the bluray is a 2-disc set. Is it Two blurays and a digital copy or is the digital copy the second disc?

Universal has turned Get Him to the Greek's bonus content up to 11, so to speak. The Blu-ray includes:
* Two versions of the film, the original theatrical cut, which runs 1:49:11 and the (slightly) extended cut, running 1:53:51;
* A raucous and often hilarious Commentary with director Nicholas Stoller, producer Rodney Rothman, and castmembers Brand, Byrne and Moss;
* Documentaries, which include three featurettes: 1) Getting Into Get Him Back to the Greek (HD; 32:07) featuring a lot of funny footage, including a table read which can't get past the cast joking with each other; 2) Getting in Tune With the Greek (HD; 13:47), focusing on the music being recorded; and 3) Making of African Child (HD; 6:26) a very funny extended version of clips which are in the film and which serve as a near perfect sendup of artistic self-delusion;
* Music Videos, including uncut footage of the songs performed in the film. These include: Greek Concert 1999 (HD; 6:35), Greek Concert 2009 (HD; 11:36), The Today Show (HD; 3:04), VH1 Storytellers: Furry Walls (HD; 3:22), World Tour: Riding Daphne (HD; 3:48) and London 02 Concert (HD; 11:00); Karaoke, which offers 15 songs with subtitles culled from the film and extras; U Control, which is surprisingly lame, offering only music producing and performing credits for all of the film's songs.
But wait, you also get: a Bonus SD-DVD which contains:
* Gag Reels (Parts 1 and 2) (10:18), including a great moment when a magnitude 4.0 earthquake hits the set while cameras are rolling;
* Line-O-Rama (9:12), a weird but very funny quick cut assemblage of various lines from the film;
* Alternate Intro: The Castle (5:53), which shows a launch party for Aldous' infamous "African Child" music video;
* Alternate Ending: Riding Daphne (3:17), a very funny short scene with Brand asking for Hill's reaction to "Riding Daphne";
* 17 Deleted Scenes (18:20);
* 22 Extended and Alternate Scenes (35:47);
* Blind Medicine (2:31), a side splitting selection of scenes from Sarah Marshall's new hit show;
* Interviews (18:02), featuring uncut segments that both were included and didn't make the final cut of the film, including a completely surreal appearance by Aldous on The View;
* Cast Auditions (17:47).
The film also includes a Digital Copy on the SD-DVD, as well as pocketBlu and social media features.

This title also has a 2-disc Collector's Edition DVD release. It sounds like they may just be including Disc 2 from that set. Kinda like how Paramount did with GI Joe. Kinda lazy.

Well, what I meant was, I don't know why it would matter, but I feel like people think this is one of those Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Packs that contains both an HD and SD version of the movie, and the second movie disc contains some extras. What I get out of the review is that they used the same Disc 2 on both the DVD and BD 2-disc sets, which seems perfectly fine to me.

This is what I take from it. We have to switch discs and get the "extra" extras in standard definition to boot.

Re: Get Him to the Greek - 9/28/10
Universal was able to take all of the extras from Funny People, make it a two-disc Blu-ray set with mostly all of its content in HD. No digital copy, just a two-disc set full of extras spread across both discs.
This just screams that Universal is lazy and/or "feels the need" to include a digital copy. I personally would've taken:
1. A second Blu-ray disc (BD-25) with the bonus material in HD.
-- OR --
2. All of the standard definition content on the second DVD moved to the first disc because there's no way the BD takes up a full 50GB (especially when Funny People is a 150-minute film with 90-minutes of HD bonus material on one disc). Keep or leave the digital copy at that point.

Eh, special features being in HD is a luxury I can take or leave. Not having access to the deleted/extended scenes on the BD admittedly sucks, but I can still live with it.

That must be why I rarely spend over $15 for a title. Usually my price-point is $10 or less but occasionally I'll let myself spend a few dollars more. It definitely pays to wait. I also have so much unwatched movies and TV shows that I'm in no rush to add something else to that category for such a high price.

I would like to preface this by saying I'm aware this is the thread in which I said "you people complain about the weirdest things", but I was wondering if anyone had their bought-long-ago copy of Sarah Marshall handy to tell me if it had a foil cover? A random selection of Universal Blus have foil covers and I hate them. The one that just came in my Best Buy 2-pack clearly has a paper cover, so if the original run was foil I might want to hang onto this one and sell the other one instead.

I just bought this movie and don't have the insert with the activation code for the digital copy.
How do I get the damn thing and has anyone else had this problem? Or am I just being remedial?

This was one of the first titles to not have a foil cover from universal which sort of ticked me off at first cause i actually prefer the foil cover, I like getting my blurays autographed when i meet people at work,(helps living 2 mins away can just run home really fast) and the glossiness of the foil helps make a much nicer autograph. not to mention its a sturdy paper stock. of course its just a little nitpick for meand not really that big of a deal.

I have FSM with a slip and I bought it like 5 months ago. The one in the Best Buy bundle did not come with a slip, though.

he wasnt talking about slip covers though in the first post though, hes talking about the actual cover art in the case if i read correctly. but now that slip covers have been mentioned Sarah Marshall actually did have slipcover as well to though now that you mention it., (atleast in the unrated comedy collection box set it did) I still have it and the box set.
