I'd expect them too. TDK was released in early December so I'd assume a similar timeframe for Inception.

I hope it's sooner rather than later. Great movie.

Supposedly, the US release is scheduled for December 7th.

UK Briefcase 3-disc edition

Added pics and specs to first post. I'm guessing we'll get the same in the US in terms of content. Spoilered the cover due to size. Same cover is also in the SE pic.

Looking forward to the North American release. It makes sense that it should arrive at about the same time. That briefcase set reminds me of the briefcase set for Bladerunner, but I'd rather they do a less bulky special edition for us (ala steelbook).

I don't care about any special cases, just glad Nolan is finally doing a commentary of sorts via the MMM.

For this film...I'd get the case one if that's what we can get here in the USA.

Adding to your Nolan point...also w/ DiCaprio. I'd like to hear his introspective w/ Nolan. They seem work really well together in interviews so hopefully this'll be pretty good.

is that Briefcase edition listed for pre-order yet? that looks nice. and are UK Blus usually region locked?

Depends on the studio. Warner Bros., however, almost always release their Blu-rays without region-coding.

It's up at Amazon.co.uk as well. Minus VAT, with shipping it came to ~$44 U.S.

I'll get the UK case if we don't get one. Hopefully...we get it too but cheaper.

That briefcase set the UK is getting is pretty tempting. Might bite on that eventually but will probably wait to see what the US release gets.

You can always preorder now to make sure you get one, then cancel if it's announced for the U.S. That's what I did.

Yeah I actually think I'm going to do that. Didn't ever consider buying movies from anywhere but the U.S. before Blu-ray but releases like this and Back to the Future that have cool exclusives and being region free make the decision easier. I rarely buy stuff like this but Inception was great and that briefcase is pretty neat.

I assume the DVD will be region 2 PAL? Hopefully the U.S. gets the dream machine case because I don't really want a useless DVD with it.

I never even thought of that. Not that it really matters I guess since I mostly care about the Blu-ray, but I might have to buy a copy on DVD too when its cheap and swap it out. I doubt the US will get a release like this. It seems rare that we ever get these special packages (aside from stupid stuff like the mask packaging for Iron Man or The Dark Knight).

The last time I saw a case worth getting was Blade Runner...and I fucking regret it cuz I got on fucking DVD....Now it just stares at me and laughs...fucking worst decision I ever did. Should've gotten it on BD knowing that I'd get to it eventually...I just didn't know it'd be so soon. Goddamnit to hell.
