" Artificial Intelligence: AI " - 10/15 in Germany...region locked? Coming to US?

YES!!! From blu-ray.com:

October Blu-ray Date for Spielberg’s A.I. Share
Posted July 13, 2010 08:28 AM by Juan Calonge

Even after the bonanza of this spring, it seems that studios are not quite done yet releasing Spielberg titles on Blu-ray: an early announcement to German retailers indicates that Artificial Intelligence: AI will finally see the light on Blu-ray on October 15. No official announcement has ben made yet.

A similar alert was posted a year ago (see blu-ray.com, May 9, 2009), but the release was later delayed indefinitely. Note that this could happen again this time.

Note that the rights to this title belong to Warner in Europe and Paramount in North America, so a US release may take place on a different date – or it might even not be released at all.

....I'd really would love to see this thing on BD. I can only imagine what I'm missing (visually speaking) on the DVD. Also TEDDY on 1080P

At least we'll have one Spielberg film this fall. Worth a rental, but I didn't enjoy it back when I saw it in Theaters.

My little issue w/ the film is the way w/ how the other Davids look on that production rig or whatever. They looked too fake. Minor prop dislike aside. I liked it.

Not sure where you'll be able to rent a German import

Didn't even see that in the listing. Well, I don't think Warner region locks titles

They do lock certain titles in Europe, unfortunately.

Warner Brothers owns the international distribution rights, so I'd bet good money it'll be a region free release.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Paramount announce a release for a similar time frame here in the states.

This would make a good Sapphire release. If they end the streak of multi-Oscar winning films in that series.

That means Jurassic Park won't be here?

I'm thinking Indy might not come. If so, it'll be the third time the Trilogy has been delayed (it's never been announced, but has been coming each Q4 since 07). Guess well know after Comiccon.

I think Bill or Jeff posted on blu-ray.com a few days back that Indy is definitely bumped again. The Alien set will be fine with me, but I do hope the Jurassic Park set is still on. I don't expect Jaws this year, which is very unfortunate.

Speaking of that site, the Insider's thread is chaos right now, with P.M. apparently behind it all.

Did they? Probably the sane thing I heard. Sigh. Paramount is dragging their feet like other studios. You'll have to PM me the details on what went on since it's been 'hidden'.

When Warner owns rights in Europe and North America, they don't use region coding. With the rights in the US with a different studio, maybe not.

Nope. Warner does not own the rights to Moonwalker in North America and that disc is definitely region free.

Same with Sweeny Todd (imported it back when Paramount didn't release it on either HD or Blu)

If they release A.I. I would like them to release Catch Me If You Can, too.
