I also throw out the cases. I file the art in a file cabinet, and any inserts in another file cabinet, toss the case, advertisements, and useless digital copy discs. The DVDs and Blu-rays themselves go in binders. Considering I have over 5,000 discs (not titles, discs), the digital copies didn't amount to much (maybe 20?), but I didn't see any point to them.

Digital copies expire? I only have a few of them (probably about 2-3) that came with various super-deluxe editions that I bought for reasons other than the DCs. I've never even bothered to read the fine print, although I do know that they come with some kind of access code.

I'm in Japan. I don't see people paying that much in postage for anything like this. Plus time and energy on my end. Plus I have to store them in my tiny Japanese apartment in the meantime, while they accumulate into a pile big enough somebody'd be willing to pay for? No thanks. Into the recycle bin they go. Sorry to shock the hardcore collectors.

I really don't like digital copies and find them to be a big waste. I usually have just kept mine in the case and not done anything with them.

Also didn't know that Discmakers was selling 3-disc Viva Elite cases until today. So my post is null and void anyway.

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
After I had made a post about this I gave it a go and sold them on eBay. I still find it odd on how much a person would spend on these. Still the answer to your question is no I do not keep them, I do keep the DVD or if its a upgrade I put the DVD in the place of the DC.

I like having a choice of digital copies on my iPhone when I travel. I sync 3-4 for each business trip and I keep all digital copy discs. They go back in their allocated space in the case every single time.

I'd never DIRECTLY pay for them solely for them. If it comes w/ it, fine. I'll use it. But I won't go out and literally buy a DC solely for the DC.

I usually keep them or give them away. Anyone know of a place you can trade them? I have a few I don't plan on using and some that I'd like to have (used copies I bought didn't have the code).
Here are the ones I have: Marley and Me; Ice Age 3; Watchmen; The Day the Earth Stood Still

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
I redeem them and then pitch the disc - I will usually then swap out the 2 disc case for a single disc case, so it doesn't look like I'm missing anything. This mainly became possible when I had to start saving space recently and started using the double and triple disc cases for 'series' movies (ie. I put all 3 Transporter films in a single slim 3 disc case, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 in the same case etc.)

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
I do now. I used to keep them because I hated how it would list 2 discs on the cover or whatever, but now I just buy empty blu cases and throw the discs away. They're pointless to keep since they serve no purpose after they are used once.

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
I should note I only pitch the discs that are JUST a digital copy - Warner's new hybrid Digital Copy/DVD copy discs I keep.... that probably went without saying but whatever.

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
Because, other than my smartphone and my laptop, I don't get too "into" gadgets. iPod? iPhone? iPad? Gimme a TV screen, not a postage stamp (and unless the iPad comes in a 32" diagonal model, don't even bother trying to hype it to me). My computer has the potential to be my TV....but why? My TV is already good enough. And I don't watch "on the go". I have much better things to do with my time than watch a great film on a postage stamp.
But....to each his own.

Re: Do you throw out your digital copy discs?
I put all my digital copies on my laptop for long road trips.
The only movies I haven't been able to put on my laptop is Juno because I bought it used and the code is gone and Hancock because my laptop is too new (Windows 7 and the digital copy only works in XP and Vista).
