Re: Star Wars Cone Wars: Season 2
I particularly like season two , as Anakin is portrayed
as a hero and rather level headed, as opposed to a whiny bitch. This is a character I could have gotten behind in the moves.
In terms of a place to discuss the series, I was asking if a forum existed in dvdtalk. Maybe people are jus skeptical, with good reason. I was hard to sell, but glad I got on board.

Agreed completely. Hayden's Anakin is about the most annoying character to ever grace a movie screen. Had they portrayed Anakin a little more like they do in this series, I think people would've had much more compassion for his character and the prequels would've been a million times better. I would've much rather seen him portrayed more normally (but a bit brooding and quick tempererd) but to have had his circumstances, the set-up by the Palpatine, and his subsequent decisions lead to his downfall. Instead he appears as nothing but a whiny and complete psycho in the prequels.
While certainly the story revolves around Anakin's decent to becoming Darth Vader, I've always felt that Obi Wan should've been much more of the focus and hero of the prequels, with Anakin being a little more as the sub-plot.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who sees the show's merit. The only problems I have with it being deemed canon by George Lucas are:
-Anakin's return to whiny bitch form in ROTS seems out of left field after viewing this.
-When Obi-Wan and Grievous fight, we are lead to believe it is their first encounter, which this series contradicts as they have had their share of battles.
-The clones are actually given some personality and story. I love how they have several struggling to be individuals when they're not meant to be such.

Every now and then I try to get a conversation going to no avail.Yeah, it's very sporadic, and my DVR reads every episode as a new one so I get lots of repeats that I have to start watching to make sure they're not new. Sometimes it'll record the same episode three times in one week.
