Raging Bull blu ray question

Hi,

So I'm trying to calibrate my (somewhat) new plasma, a Samsung 450, and I'm using this blu ray to attempt to get the white balance as correct as possible.

A few things I've noticed are the warm modes (1 and 2) for this set add some green (or yellow) to the whites in this film. It doesn't look right, but maybe it's supposed to look like that.

And in Standard mode the whites seem more proper white, with maybe a little blue involved.

How does this disc look on your sets?

Thanks.

You mean you're using the black and white movie Raging Bull to calibrate your TV? Why not try nearly anything else that's in color? Several of the Disney BD's have a calibration program you can use.

White balance calibration only.
Yeah, I've used those Disney discs.
But I've heard using a B&W film is best for setting the white balance.

Hmm... I'm pretty skeptical about what you're attempting here. Raging Bull is pretty midrange-dominant. I don't think there's really a lot of true white in it.

Yeah, I've found that out myself.
I suppose the panel itself might have limitations keeping it from being perfect, but I'm not that picky.

So, I've got it so it isn't true white, but not heavily blueish or greenish either.
