I didn't think that Alliance released a DigiBook. Are you sure it's not just the Canadian edition of the Warner version? Alliance's disc is way worse, featuring a weak transfer that has been cropped, and lacking the special features (I think).

It's definitely a digibook. The logos at the start of the disc are Alliance

And the DigiBook itself has French writing and the Alliance logo on the spine?

I ordered this via Amazon Marketplace thinking I was getting the US version. The Alliance version showed up instead. Obviously the packaging is slightly different w/ the bi-lingual cover and spine, but I want to make sure the transfer, sound, etc is the same before I decide what I need to do here.

Thanks!

It has 'Se7en' and also 'Sep7' (or some variation on that - I'm at work now and this isn't in front of me). It does have the Alliance logo on the spine.

I scanned through this thread before saying something - page 5 is only filled w/ the debate on digibooks

That's really weird, I had no idea that Alliance released a DigiBook version. What you should do is pop the disc in and see if the aspect ratio is 1.78:1 or 2.40:1. The former is what Alliance cropped their release to, and the latter is the original aspect ratio, which Warner released their copy in. Alliance has done direct ports of U.S. releases before (it's just rare) so maybe this is a case where in addition to re-releasing the movie in a DigiBook, they re-did their disc as well. Check the aspect ratio and the special features, and report back.

looking at the last couple pgs of this thread ....
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...250155&page=13

... looks like it should be a revamped version for the Alliance digipack ... at least I didn't see any complaints that would indicate otherwise

Checked the disc...correct aspect ratio, 7.1 sound, all the supplementals. I guess I'm good!

Not everyone has the same settings for posts per page.

Anyway I just got this at Borders using borders buck and a coupon. All I needed to do was spin the case and clearly hear a disc spinnig inside.

Wait, what was this thread about?
