Looks solid to me. I love Digibooks, and this film def deserves one.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I do love the digibook they created. But it would have been really cool if the cover matched the notebook used in the movie. Similar to the 2-disc DVD.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I'm personally holding out until each and ever extra is confirmed to carry over. It looks like the OPs list confirms most of them, but it's not everything.
I'm thinking they will be because I heard Fincher supervised this release just as he did with the Fight Club one (where all the extras carried over as well). But I guess I've been burned before so I'll still wait just in case. |

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
This one appears to be some of the special features from the CE. Also, no mention of the sound mix used. I would have loved to hear a lossless version of the original theatrical mix and the home theater mix they produced for the DVD. Something tells me we are getting a single lossless mix.
Sigh. Why do so many Blu-ray catalog releases get so close to perfection... and then miss the mark. It's infuriating. |
Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I'll get this when its out for sure. I don't really like the cover art though I'd rather they went with the notebook style packaging of the 2 disc Platinum Edition from New Line. Ah well..

I want that. And I will be willing to commit crime for it. Heinous crime.

I'm so sick of the US not getting the cool special editions.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I guess I'm in the minority since I have no desire to get something like that. Just give me a really great 2 disc set with all the extras, and a great picture and audio masters and I'll be fine.
|
Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I have a question about the set. Besides the Blu-ray, what's in the box?

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
I'd feel like an idiot opening three different boxes to get to one movie, and i'm all for cool packaging.

I want to go to there.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
It looks like the only extra in the box is the comic book (200 pages, 7 issues) that was edited by Zenescope Entertainment, but in tiny size instead of regular comic book size. Not worth it in my opinion.
|
Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
That set is cool looking but if all it is, is a comic and the Blu-ray stuffed in an over-sized box I''m just going with the regular US release. I still wish they had chosen to make the book packaging resemble one of the notebooks from the movie.

I wish all Blu Rays came in the Digibooks. I hate trading in the nice packages like Fight Club for a eco recylce blu ray case. They just feel cheap.
|
Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
Count me in as another who doesn't care for this type of packaging. I prefer consistency, simplicity and durability over this sort of thing.
I learned this early on with DVD. Very shortly after buying a couple of special package DVD releases I realized that it's just taking up shelf space, is cumbersome and delicate to handle and really offers nothing except looks - and I never sit and stare at my shelf. Every time a package like this comes out - I drool for about 3 seconds and then the love-affair is over. |

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
Yeah, at least it would force the damn studios to make the effort to make what used to be an insert. Knowing them though they would probably just stop that after awhile too and just make it a hardcover book type blu ray case.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
Just a quick note. I got mine sent from the States early and received it yesterday.
Opened up the package and the book is amazing. Really glossy pages with quite up to date info inside. Haven't put the disc in the PS3 yet so no idea on any quality yet. Will try tonight and see what we get! |

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
Yeah, I can say the entire Blu-ray is great. The video and audio are incredible and the digibook itself is pretty sleek with the glossy photos.

Re: Se7en (Seven) Digibook -- 9/14/10
Amazon has lowered their price to $24.99 to match Best Buy. I normally don't pay that much for catalogs, but this film might be an exception.
