scene selection is ok but the actor's biography and animated menus is where it's at these days for cutting edge extras.

Oh man, I was on the fence before, but this is now definitely a day one purchase for me!

I used to love the actor filmographies on the original DVDs back in 1997-1998 timeframe. They need to bring this special feature back!

Does anyone remember on old school Artisan DVDs where they listed the run time as a special feature? It would usually be the first special feature.

I have ordered the tin with the extras from Play.com but has it been announced that the US will get this set yet because I hate ratings logos.

Can't get the internet at home in Naperville?

That would require me to get up off the couch, go upstairs, and actually remember the actors name by the time I got to the computer. Sometimes, I'm lucky enough to have my Droid on me though, but I usually leave it in the charger.

$49.96 at Amazon right now.

I placed an order at that price last night. Any higher, and the consequences could be disastrous.

Now I wish the Blu-Ray set included the complete animated series with all the live action Doc Brown segments where he got to be Mr. Wizard.

I so wish they would release those in some format. I loved watching that when it was on, especially the Doc Brown segments.

Count me as another who'd like to have the animated series available to own. I don't remember it being my favorite cartoon when I was younger, but then again I don't really remember all that much of it and haven't seen it in years.

If it goes any higher than that... consequences... will never be the same.

I'm just happy it's coming out in October instead of the week before Christmas like it did when it hit DVD in 02.

We have wikipedia and IMDB for that.

I understand that, but immediately after the movie ends, I tend to check out the special features, and checking the filmography of the actors from the movie that you just watched is a simple pleasure, versus having to run over to a computer, looking up the movie, etc. Now, I'll often bring my Droid down into my basement theater, and be able to look up a specific actor, but it's definitely more work.

In theory, Sony's MovieIQ is supposed to solve this problem. On discs with that feature, you can pull up a menu while the disc is playing that will tell you who's in the scene you're watching and give you their up-to-date filmography. But you need to be connected to BD-Live for it to work.

That's pretty awesome. If it includes everybody with a speaking part, to see where they are now if they became more well known, etc.

Maybe they're in an alternate timeline where the movie was released in 1984? :)

Thanks for posting that video.

I'm so excited for this... I wish it was out already. This is definitely my most anticipated Blu-ray release ever.
