MGM/FOX Blu-ray/DVD Combo packs

I just noticed at the store today they had several titles in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for $9.99.

They had titles like Road House, Commando, Robocop, Rocky, Speed etc.

Some had just the feature on the Blu-ray disc and the DVD had the movie with the extras.

Just wondering if they are double-sided "flipper" discs or are they two separate discs?

To my knowledge, they are separate discs.

Yeah, they're separate discs.

Universal is the only studio that has done "Flippers", and it's been a total of 6 titles (all individual Bournes, Out of Africa, The Jackal and Traffic)

I wish they weren't in DVD-sized cases, but I guess the whole idea is to entice DVD owners to plan for the future, rather than getting existing Blu-Ray owners to buy them.

I think it's a mix of BD+DVD in BD cases and others are DVD+BD in DVD cases. Sometimes the film is available in both 'styles'.

I would buy more blu-ray combo packs if they were in amarays.. (as opposed to only buying absolute favorites) For example, because African Queen BD Deluxe edition is in a amaray size box, I'll pick it up as opposed to the SD or BD standard edition, even though I have no interest in the extras...because I don't want to segregate my movies any more than I have to... Still have shelves of laserdiscs, and a few VHS...

On the MGM/FOX combo packs is the artwork the same as the sd or is it new artwork? I haven't seen these.
