THX-1138, Mars Attacks, Forbidden Planet -> September 2010 (UK)
from blu-ray.com
THX-1138, now that's some really nice news.
An early announcement to UK retailers reveals that Warner Home Video will release a wave of movies on Blu-ray in September, most of them from the science-fiction genre. On September 20, it will release The Exorcist, Forbidden Planet, Lost in Space, Mars Attacks! and Rush Hour. A week later, the studio will release THX 1138 and Timecop.
Some of these titles may also be released around the same time in the US, but not necessarily all. Note that Timecop is a Universal title in the US.

All are going to hit us in the US around the same time. So many cheesy Sci-Fi films.

Nice. Im in for all of those except for Rush Hour. I found that one less watchable the more it was on tv. Cant wait to see Exorcist on Blu!

Timecop may be a Warner release in the U.S. now as well.
Largo Entertainment titles Dr. Giggles and The 1994 remake of The Getaway are being released by Warner this summer instead of Universal. Timecop is a Largo Entertainment title.
Forbidden Planet, THX-1138, Lost in Space and Mars Attacks! have been rumored for September 7 in the U.S. for quite some time.

Wasn't Forbidden Planet released on Bluray in that special tin edition alongside the DVD and HD DVD?
That DVD version of the boxset is yet another title I picked up and have yet to watch and now it's coming out on Blu and I'm kicking myself for not waiting.

Definitely want THX. I thought Lucas's CGI improvements in this one were nicely done.

I don't know, I thought all of the CGI made a cold, desolate "location" which is what I always thought into a bustling "city" which I thought was unnecessary. Maybe, we should be so lucky and Lucas would release both versions?

Nice to see Timecop get some love on Blu-ray. I purchased the HD DVD a couple of years ago when the format died, because I figured it would be a while before this would be released on BD.

I hope that Mars Attacks at least has special features. Even if its almost a bare-bones affair, I'd like to see all the deleted scenes that are out there. Didn't the original DVD have one of the first isolated scores as a bonus feature? Wonder if that'll make it to the BD...
I'm in for The Exorcist as it's already been stated the BD release will contain both versions of the film, but it'll be interesting to see how the PQ is...

MUCH unlike the abominations of changes he made for Episode 4 and 6.

i really hope wb ports over the isolated film score on mars attacks from the dvd, that feature alone is the sole reason i still own the regular dvd.
loved this movie, and the score is definately one of my favorites.

Love Mars Attacks (never understood the hate - outside of the general goofiness of it all). Hope it's a good disc.
