I guess you've never seen anything by Hou Hsiao-Hsien. I'm a huge fan of his and consider him one of the greatest directors in the world so I will probably like it. Funny thing is when I went to buy it on release date, the shelf was almost empty and there was only one copy left. Whoever purchased this is in for a huge disappointment expecting non-stop action/martial arts. His style is slow paced arthouse drama, which some would equate to watching paint dry.

Never have. Yeah, it was a pretty film to look at but it was a chore to get through and I hated the editing of the fights - what few there were.

Yup. I'll probably watch it tonight or tomorrow.

The co-writer of The Revenant wrote this, so we'll see how it goes. The French film is phenomenal.

Not really sure why I bought this when I can rent it for a $1 at Family Video but I had some RZ dollars to spend and it was an impulse purchase. I did enjoy it when I saw it but not sure how often I would revisit it.

I hope you enjoy it, I usually stear clear of films that say "From a producer of" on the cover.
