Brothers

I searched but couldnt find a particular thread on this movie. I picked it up today as a bling buy as the trailer looks really good. Any thoughts out there on it? Good, Bad or otherwise?

I watched it and thought it was good. I can certainly say that I have a higher opinion of Tobey Maguire's acting skills. i never saw him in anything where he didn't just seem like a whiny virginal teenager. But in this... he plays a soldier tormented by guilt for some terrible shit. He was VERY good.

Re: Brothers

I just watched this yesterday and thought it was pretty good. I liked how they kept the pace up and the movie tight, as this really could have come in at 2.5 hours without a good director. Jake and Toby were great and I love Natalie but didn't think she was at her best here. I don't think it was so much her acting but she seemed a miscast.

I agree. I was surprised his name never came up during awards season.

Re: Brothers

I don't know this one just didn't resonate for me. I like Maguire but didn't find anything extraordinary about his performance or any of them. Just kind of a "meh" experience. The Blu-ray looked great though.
