One thing we can be absolutely sure of with the Olive re-releases is that they'll be single-layered, with a fixed bitrate of either 20 or 22 Mbits/sec. All their previous releases have been so. Hope they give these films some more breathing room, and utilize all of the disc space, but my expectations are very low...

I don't know. Seems Olive's encoding software has been pegged at 20-22 Mbit since they started releasing... Of course some will argue "bitrate isn't everything", but *all other things being equal*, why not give a 14 or 15 gb encode at 22 Mbits a more expansive 23 gb at ~30-32 mbits/sec, and we're bound to see a more natural, film-like look in the image. It won't hurt anything, and how can it cost Olive anything more to fill out the movies to the available disc space? It's somebody doing a little math (taking the length of the film into account), and pressing a slider from "22" to something a bit higher to fill out the space.
Beaver has been saying Olive's releases are "typically modest" since the beginning.
