Momitsu BDP-899 & The Hurt Locker problem

OK, so I do know that this is most likely a hardware issue, but I think I might actually have a better chance of an answere here, so please excuse me.

I've had the player since July. I have 50-something Blu-Rays and have played others that I've rented and never had a problem. Today, my copy of The Hurt Locker arrived and I popped it in. The player says format unknown and ejects the disc.

I've never had the player attached to the net, but I attached an ethernet wire just a few minutes ago. I'm guessing the player maybe needs a firmware update, but I don't know.

What do you think and more importantly, can tell me how I even can do a firmware update? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

I don't have the 899, but I do have the 799. I also don't have the Hurt Locker BD, either! Anyway, in order to upgrade the firmware of my 799, I had to download and unzip the latest firmware file from the momitsu website and copy it onto a thumb/jump/flash drive.

http://www.momitsu.com/bdp_899_spec.html#bdp899frimware

Once written on the thumb/jump/flash drive, just plug it into the 899's USB port while the player is powered on. It should take less than a minute to upgrade the firmware.

I'll try Hurt Locker on my 799 tonight and see what happens.

I have the Curtis Mathes 130 (899 clone) and it played just fine on mine. Firmware has been updated though (12-03-09).

And since mine is only 1.1, I can't hook up to the internet. You can just go to the Momitsu website and burn the firmware update and pop it into your player.

It was the disc. I exchanged it and the new one works.
