Anybody own The Descent on blu ray?
I have two judder related questions, hopefully it will help me decide if I should keep my samsung lcd (b550) or exchange for it for a plasma (panasonic 42u1):
At the 6:40 mark in The Descent, the camera is filming across the treetops in the mountains following the car.
On my lcd the trees look awful, the worst example of this judder effect I've seen.
So:
1. Is this noticeable on a plasma display, maybe confirming the judder is inherent in the film?
2. Or is this simply a consequence of my 60hz tv?
Thanks!

I'm not even sure what jutting is exactly, but I just checked and I don't notice anything out of the ordinary on my plasma. The trees look fine to me. I'm no videophile though.
The shot I believe you are talking about is at 8:05 and lasts for about 5 seconds.

FYI, there is two versions of this film. One if MPEG2 and the other VC1. Do you happen to know what version you have?

The part I'm talking about starts at 6:40, fast across the trees for about 10 seconds. The car is in focus, but the trees look terrible.
The part at 8:05 looks fine.

Probably not, it's the other way around. The first pressings were the better encode (AVC) then at some point Lionsgate switched to a different encode (MPEG) that wasn't as sharp as the original.
