I remember the production was a mess and Walter Hill eventually took his name off of it and had it replaced with an Alan Smithee-style pseudonym.

Shout found the uncut version of "Vault of Horror"! I'm very happy I pre-ordered this for 17 bucks at Amazon.
Scream Factory **VAULT OF HORROR Update** For all of you waiting patiently for our double feature blu-ray release of TALES FROM THE CRYPT / VAULT OF HORROR on 12/2, we have some very good news to report to you on VAULT... When we found out that the Fox HD master we licensed was the theatrical cut, we went searching for an uncut film element. This was a challenge since the film is over 40 years old and somewhat obscure. At some point we started to accept that that we were going to have to splice DVD footage of the uncut footage (lifted from a prior UK release) into the theatrical cut to be able to present it uncut, as promise when we announced. We tried that and the results were not great. Still, we thought this was the best we were going to be able to get. Thankfully, there was rumor that the British Film Institute had done a restoration on the film years ago. We contacted them and, sure enough, BFI had done an HD transfer from a film print--and it was the UNCUT version! We quickly had a clone made of their master and then removed dirt and scratches from it to the best of our resources. The release is now a 2-disc set. The first disc will include TALES and VAULT's uncut widescreen. The 2nd disc will include VAULT's theatrical cut (from the Fox master) and a rare open-matte version of the BFI master. We thank you for your patience on the delay of this release and hope you will find that our presentation of these films will have been worth the wait! |

The news about Class of 1984 excites me a great deal.

https://m.facebook.com/ScreamFactory...type=1&theater That's great news. I didn't think they would come through with it when they announced that they might not be able to locate it. |

Wasn't Supernova butchered by producers? I seem to remember a story about that when it was released. I'd be interested to see it as intended.

This was during the time that Coppola was broke and did a lot of for-hire film work (including Jack and The Rainmaker) to keep his wine business afloat. |

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**
Our month-long "Shocktober" celebration continues with another film to reveal. In Feb 2015, the 1987 anthology horror film FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM (also known as THE OFFSPRING) will make its debut on the Blu-ray format. Directed by Jeff Burr (The Stepfather 2, Pumpkinhead II, Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and Puppetmaster 4 & 5), the film stars legendary king of horror Vincent Price, Clu Gulager (The Return of the Living Dead, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2), Susan Tyrell (Angel, Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker) and Cameron Mitchell (Silent Scream, The Toolbox Murders). Artwork you see here is final (and we will strive to make the reverse art as “The Offspring” – no promises at this time.) There are no details on extras at this time but they will be announced before the end of the year. |

Lots of solid middle-of-the-road announcements lately. I'm really excited for Class of 1984. They've gotta have a blockbuster title or two lined up for announcement soon, though.

They're obviously saving the best for last. I think Dawn of the Dead is likely to be announced. And maybe Phantasm.

At this point they're mostly raiding the MGM vaults, and they've already released most of the high profile stuff there like The Howling. Not sure where they currently stand with Universal, but Ghost Story could use a good SE. If they could get ahold of some Warner titles, Salem's Lot and Creepshow would be awesome. There actually quite a few Warners titles that have been underserved like Innocent Blood. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
Plenty. Without drafting up my own list, there are at least a dozen solid titles they could give the CE treatment to.

The biggie remains Phantasm. When are we going to see that finally hit Blu-ray?

Arrow just released Shivers in the UK. I hope people are aware that Arrow has announced they plan to become a Blu-ray label in the United States.
Here is their kickstarter-like fundraising campaign and the first three announced BDs. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/arrow-video-usa |

Nice to see all these announcements but nothing that I'm really interested in so far except maybe the Ghoulies/Ghoulies II Double Feature.
