re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
It'll probably be released in its R-Rated form by Scream Factory but I was hoping somehow the Unrated Footage (if it still exists) would be put back into The Hills Run Red.
I know Warner Bros. had 10-minutes cut from the film after their first screening. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
such a fun guilty pleasure and so inaccurate. sounds good...The Wizard

I would not recommend blind buying the new April Fool’s Day release if you never saw it. If you have STARZ, watch it there first. I saw it for the first time last night in about 25 years and it does not hold up very well. Not really a true horror movie either. It’s IMO a one time watch.

April Fool's Day is such a buzzkill. It's like Friday the 13th V: A New Beginning times 10.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I was poking around on Amazon and noticed that a number of Miramax and Dimension films are out of print. A lot of these were shitty budget editions by Lionsgate and Echo Bridge, anyway.
I wonder if there's any chance that Shout/Scream could get access to this library of films. I would absolutely love to have Shout/Scream special editions of the following titles: From Scream Factory: Crow SE Boxed Set 1-4 From Dusk Till Dawn SE Boxed Set 1-3 (Using the Frank Frazetta key art for the cover) Scream Unrated From Shout Factory: Pulp Fiction Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Jackie Brown Velvet Goldmine Heavenly Creatures Trainspotting And there are also a lot of other titles that I, personally, have less interest in, but would probably do well. Prophecy 1-5 Boxed Set The Faculty Mimic Four Rooms Beautiful Girls Good Will Hunting Swingers Shakespeare in Love |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
The OOP status probably has to do with the part ownership of Miramax and being sold to CBS/Viacom. That includes pre-2005 Dimension titles.
variety.com/2019/biz/news/viacomcbs-miramax-acquisition-bein-media-1203449765/ Paramount did recently start allowing some titles to be licensed to Shout. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I didn't know about the Paramount acquisition (or read about and forgot about it).
Potentially, it doesn't bode well for more discs. They're probably more interested in acquiring content to beef up the All Access streaming service. Though as the major studios switch over the streaming, they might consider licensing out more titles to third parties like Shout, Criterion, Kino-Lorber, etc. One interesting thing is that there are a lot of DVD supplements (a commentary track by Alex Proyas and David J.Schow, and a 90 minutes bts documentary by Schow, among other things) for The Crow that didn't make it onto the DVD SE because of a behind-the-scenes conflict, and it still hasn't seen the light of day. Maybe if someone like Criterion or Scream could get their hands on this, the material could finally be included on a release. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I'd love to see a quality box set for the Prophecy films.

Should have The Wizard next week. Looking forward to revisiting that cheesy af classic.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
Just watched The Howling III. It was a blind buy. Probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

**OUT OF PRINT Alert**
Some of our older releases are going away by the end of the year. If you have not picked up the following Blu-ray releases by now, here's your last chance! Candyman 2: Farewell To The Flesh Supernova The Vincent Price Collection III The Phantom Of The Opera (1989) From A Whisper To A Scream TerrorVision / The Video Dead [Double Feature] Prison [Collector's Edition] (1987) Invasion Of The Body Snatchers [Collector's Edition] Poltergeist II: The Other Side [Collector's Edition] Poltergeist III [Collector's Edition] Alienator Available (while supplies last) at www.shoutfactory.com or other fine online retailers. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
^ Hmm. The only one I have is Poltergeist II. I might need to pick up Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I passed that over because I already have the old blu-ray (and the original DVD), and wasn't sure if it warranted an upgrade. Figured I could wait a while to pick it up.
Sort of surprised at that list. Some of those are fairly recent releases; I think the Poltergeists and Body Snatchers were only released about three years ago. |
re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
Might pick up Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh before it’s gone. Possibly Poltergeist II and Poltergeist III but I actually don’t even own the first one.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
Shout posted on Facebook their Shout Select edition of Road House will be going out of print. If you don't have it it's definitely worth the buy.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I have that one. Stellar presentation. That had old interviews with Swayze and new with wife and stuff? Pretty sure I got it and saw...

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I have the Shout blu-ray, the MGM blu-ray, and the SE DVD. I'll still be holding on to all three copies because there are extras missing on the Shout edition from the dvd.

Surprised it hasn't been mention that Shout is running a "Cabin Fever" sale right now through April 30th. 15% off of everything on their online store. I might consider getting The Fly Collection.

The Fly Collection is actually $54.37, the sale takes the 15% off once you put the items in your cart. I might buy it later this month.

So I had never heard of Freaked until Red Letter Media posted this review. I watched the movie after finding it on YouTube and I must say its wacky and just a ton of fun. It would be a perfect movie for Shout Factory to get a hold of for a new blu-ray release.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
People have got to support that 4K release of Deer Hunter, otherwise, I don't see Shout investing anymore in the format. It's a big title. It's an Academy Award winning film, not some stupid low budget action film.
Here's more upcoming titles that will go out of print |
