Kind of a meh list for me. I’ve always been curious about Starman as I’ve heard it talked about as one of Carpenter’s best but have never watched it. Maybe a blind buy for me. Urban Legends is okay cheese but nothing I need to rush to pre-order. Same for the sequel.

I watched Starman when I was a kid and it bored me. Haven't seen it since.

I’m not sure what it is about it but I’ve always kinda found the Candyman films disturbing to the point where even as a horror fan I don’t really like them. Same thing with the Hellraiser films.

Hellraiser is a little disturbing, but Candyman is saccharin compared to many. manly just deranged supernatural, devious killer with good early performances by Todd and Madsen. i didn't love the movie, but i was young and didn't know horror back then whenever i saw it and will give another chance...

I sent a tweet to Shout that they should try to get Paul Talbot to talk about 10 to Midnight. He's a Bronson historian and wrote 2 books about his movies.

He actually did the commentary track on Death Wish 2, which Shout released, and it was terrific. Since there is essentially no one left from the creative side to talk about the movie, he's a good one to hopefully get.

Did they reply back? I'm sure they might have thought of it. As far as anyone left alive to talk about the movie. I know the guy who played the killer is still alive, he was on the deleted scenes in the Cannon Films movie.

No they didn't reply back, but I'm also sure he's on their list of people to talk to.

The previous blu release included: Audio Commentary features David Del Valle hosting producer Pancho Kohner and casting director John Crowther.

25 announced titles between the Scream and Shout Select labels, and not one thing I'm interested in.

Don't know whether to be happy I can save my money or be disappointed that I'm likely looking at almost another year before they do release something I care about.

I'm gonna choose to be happy. I have way too much stuff I already own that I need to find time to enjoy anyway.

The posters over on blu-ray.com went apeshit for the Scream announcements. I thought they were pretty mediocre and was equally disappointed in the Shout Select announcements (Legally Blonde? Really?). The only one out of the whole bunch I would have any interest in was Dracula: Prince of Darkness, but I already have the Millennium BD.

They go apeshit about everything. It’s kind of pathetic.

Missed Used Cars coming out under the Shout Select line. I never bought the Twilight Time release so I’ll grab that.

I like Scream Factory releases but I kinda feel like they blew their wad early on and scrape the bottom of the barrel with a lot of their recent releases. They’ve still got decent titles coming now and again but a lot are re-releases (either that they’ve done or other companies have) or things that are either too new for my taste or too obscure.

Nothing in the announcements I don't already have or want. With them releasing Dracula-Prince of Darkness, have to wonder if they've down the rest of the Anchor Bay Hammer titles. Did the company that released DPOD and Frank Created Woman before going belly up have rights to the others also?

I'm in for Candyman as long as the image is a quality upgrade from the DVD which, sadly, is not always a given.

The fact that the director and the DP have been involved with this is promising. Rose tweeted some pictures of himself at work on it a while back. So far, it seems Shout has a slight lead in supplements with its four commentaries vs. Arrow's two (both feature the two newer tracks). Shout simply lists Rose's storyboards like any other extra, while Arrow is printing them in perfect-bound book form. Arrow also has Rose's early short films, but Shout's listing does say "more to be announced" so . . .

I think there are some fun titles in that Scream list. But, they are mostly B movies and I get a feeling that most of you want some bigger and more known titles.

I just think they had some more high quality titles when they first started out. They released some big titles and mixed in some of the smaller titles. These feel like mostly small titles to me. A lot of it is personal preference but I’ve felt for the past couple years or so they’ve been releasing less and less that I’m interested in. Like coming up this year I’m interested in Return of the Living Dead 2 as well as Creepshow and Trick ‘r Treat and that’s about it.

I guess I'm the only one excited for Saturday the 14th, I never even got the DVD because it's been OOP for forever so I'm really happy to see it finally coming out on Blu-ray.
Also looking forward to the Critters movies. Not sure if I ever saw Candyman, that might be something I end up picking up.

I'm excited for Candyman and the previously announced ROTLD2. But I also think it's true that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel now. For better or for worse there are only so many horror / cult movies, and these days there are even fewer essential titles that have yet to receive a release. It is what it is. I'm just thankful that we seem to be living in a bit of a golden age of home video genre releases :)

The level of entitlement over there is overwhelming.

They've always been a mix of both, but even a lot of the "known" titles are fairly cultish. I'm sure there is an abundance of obscure B movies they could still release. But when it comes to "known" titles, the well is running pretty dry. They've either put it out themselves or someone else has. Which is why we are seeing them release so many titles that already have good blu rays and also the recent trend of repacking their existing releases in steelbooks. Like I said before, I'd be plenty happy to see them focus more on the Select line. I think there is a ton of stuff they could do there that hasn't been released to Blu Ray.

Either way I still think they are a good label and will continue to support them when I can.

I did see Dances with Wolves is getting a Shout Bluray release among the new announcements, but I can't find anything about a release date. Its always been a favorite movie of mine, and I'm wondering if any new extras will be produced. I do hope that both the Theatrical and extended cuts are included.

The theatrical has never been on blu before, correct?

Its been released on dvd, but never on bluray. I like the extra scenes, but I think it moves at a better pace in the theatrical cut.
