Re: I'm SICK & TIRED of all these DAMN Stickers on my BD Slipcovers!

Maybe I'm not getting AS many because we do our shopping mostly online now for our BDs and the few instances where we still get a standard def dvd. Still, we get plenty of sticker, but unlike the past on SD, we've never had a single problem peeling them off our Blu ray discs. I'm thinking it's those BB stickers that are added that are why we don't have the problem. I think they must be a lot stickier or something.

I can't lie to you. I just have this thing for these "studio stickers". I've been doing this with my DVDs and HD DVDs too.

Stickers that are on the shrinkwrap I cut out and put in the case- if it's a snapper I take out the tray and stick the labels behind that and put the tray back in (which I did with the old Warner shield stickers listing 'special features' on their first DVDs). Stickers put by the studios on slipcovers I don't have a problem with, I just leave those on. If a store puts its own stickers on them though, I simply don't buy it.

Haha wow. Some of you guys are obsessed with keeping everything. I keep stickers if its something I find cool but I usually wind up just throwing them out. I used to be the same way had to have every slip cover kept every little insert inside the case but eventually got sick of it. Now I just keep the case bare unless there's an actual booklet with info about the movie/blu-ray and only save the slip cover if the artwork is different.

Maybe they'd be doing us a favor by not enabling us.

I sometimes wonder why I save these hundreds or thousands of slipcases that serve absolutely no legitimate purpose.

You can take all the stickers out, with a litle time. You put some WOOD CLEANER SPRAY on the sticker, wait 5 minutes, and it should come of easy.

The only sticker I don't like are the price stickers. Those are a pain-in-the-ass to pull off. So I use Goo Gone.

I always keep my slipcovers but I'll sell the worthless stickers if anyone is willing to pay. The last time I cared about stickers was in elementary school but to each his own.

You're saying you don't want any sticker-on-sticker action on your straight blu-ray porno cases? Prude.

I think I tossed the Spider-Man 3 and Men In Black slip covers, but for the most part I have been keeping them. Offhand, I know that Watchmen and Transformers 2 had different slips than the cases.

Picked up Inglorious Basterds today at Target ($12.98 w/ tax, btw) and the first thing I noticed was the big sticker shilling the new American Pie film (and offering $5 off that film, Public Enemies, etc etc). Didn't have any interest in buying the film so I started peeling it off and it was DIFFICULT. I usually have no problem with these but this thing was like a piece of packing tape stuck to the slipcover.

Finally got it off cleanly, look at the cover to see that a translucent layer of glittery color had been taken off the cover.

Goddamnit.

Just left the "Digital Copy" sticker on there because I can see similar results.

I noticed it was difficult too, but I was careful enough to just have a couple tiny flecks of the silver come off. The digital copy sticker was much easier.

BB's IB also had a shit-load of stickers too: one for the retail price, one for some coupon, one saying it's QT's "awesome new movie" or some shit, and one denoting BB's exclusive disc. The only thing that wasn't covered by a sticker was the title. The problem's exasperated when you realize that even if the stickers come off clean, they damage the sliver finish of the cover.

My Amazon copy just had the digital copy sticker, and pulled off a bit of the shiny stuff.
