Disney2Blu Upgrade Program

I did not see this mentioned anywhere but if it has then sorry for the double post but it looks like Disney is going to start an upgrade program as well. It was mentioned in the UP Blu Ray case and the website shows it coming soon. Hopefully it is better than the Warner Bros deal.

The site itself isn't up yet, but there are some related sites with various Disney offerings. One has Goofy explaining HD. I think I have just about every Disney BD out already I already have. Wish they launched this sooner. Or maybe they'll announce future titles we can trade up for, but I doubt that.

That's sweet! Though I'm not sure if I even have any Disney DVDs that I haven't already upgraded to Blu-Ray. Hopefully they'll do it on upcoming titles too.

Re: Disney2Blu Upgrade Program

I have a couple of Disney/Pixar titles that need to be upgraded. I'm wondering if this is going to include titles from all of Disney's child companies and affiliates or just the classic Disney stuff...

They have been advertising that site for months now, but it still hasn't been launched...they need to learn a thing or two from Warner and not advertise a trade in site until it is actually ready to go....

Right now you can only trade in Monster's Inc. What you do is imput the serial code and they give you a coupon for eight dollars off towards the Blu-Ray of said movie.

I can see that "Cars" will be avaliable in the program soon so I'll wait for that. I didn't have MI on DVD so it didn't really benefit me.

Hell, I just sold my Monsters Inc. 2-disk DVD on ebay for more than I paid for the Blu-ray. Same thing with Snow White a few months ago. This upgrade program may not even be worth it.

I imagine it will probably encompass more than just the animated flicks.

Re: Disney2Blu Upgrade Program

If it truly is just a coupon for a code off of the disc, I am ALL about this.

That's the upgrade coupon through Disney Rewards. That's not what they're talking about here. The upgrade website has not launched yet.

Re: Disney2Blu Upgrade Program

If they continue to accept VHS codes for classic animated stuff, I will be very happy.
