Warner Bros. & DTS...
Can someone explain to me why Warner Bros keep wasting valuable disc space with all these different language soundtracks and subtitles, instead of adding a DTS soundtrack to their DVD releases. They're even screwing up their Blu-Ray releases. I was hoping that all my favorite WB movies that were released on DVD without DTS would get a DTS release on Blu-Ray...GUESS NOT!!!

Maybe post in the DVD forum?
But DTS is only used on Warner titles for ones that have the Maximum mode (Profile 1.1). Warner only did DTS DVDs for a short time too. They went right back to Dolby.

Well, when it comes to New Line titles, they also went back to DTS. The Final Destination is DTS-HD MA.
And to answer your question about why the DVDs don't have it:
DTS eats more space then Dolby Digital and unlike Blu-ray Disc, DTS is not one of the mandatory codecs. So if a studio or distributor incldues DTS then they still have to include Dolby Digital audio as a secondary track.
Also, Warner only made a licensing deal with DTS for five Warner films. The contract is fufilled so Warner does not have to commit to DTS anymore. Some branches or productions companies may choose to use DTS on DVD but again, they also have to include a Dolby Digital track as well.

Dont mind him that poster really likes to spend a lot of time talking down and being rude to quite a few forum members, some people really have nothing better to do with their time. or maybe there are deeper rooted issues with a person like that.

Re: Warner Bros. & DTS...
Then making the exact same post in two different forums is useful?
But informing someone exactly why DTS is unnecessary and redundant when another lossless soundtrack was already provided is not useful?
Good to know....

WMAangel: Seriously. If you have nothing useful to say, then it's best to say nothing.
chukkie26: Your language sucks. Even with the # and the @, that is really not called for.
Apparently, there is already a discussion in another thread, so closing this one.
