I've been wanting to get into The Shield for a while now and with the release of the complete series tomorrow, I figured I might as well jump on now. I would prefer to buy the series on blu-ray, but I can't find any info anywhere about whether or not there will be a blu release because if so, I can wait a little longer. Does anyone here know?

If BD isnt a possibility because of the lack in quality, couldnt they then just put all the episodes on 1 disc at DVD quality since there is more space? That would be nice at least to save shelf space.

Never gonna happen. It would be a marketing disaster if studios started issuing SD content on Blu-ray discs.

While an excellent show, I would caution you about the replay value. I'm sure you could always resell it and get your money back, but I couldn't see myself sitting down to it again for at least another 5 years.

I, on the other hand, could re-watch The Shield any time.
