Doesn't ANYONE have The Faculty in stock?
I've been looking everywhere. Tower.com listed it as in-stock, but I ordered a week ago and they haven't shipped. iNetVIdeo lists it, but they're shipping options are broken; media mail is unacceptable. Amazon.ca lists it but says "ships in 2-5 weeks." I don't even see any copies on ebay other than one being sold by iNetVideo. What the shit?

I'll sell you mine for $40. Or just wait a week or two for it to come back in stock. They probably didn't think it would sell as well as it did.

Why won't Disney just release The Faculty along with From Dusk til Dawn on bluray, I'l buy them both since I still have the original dvds.

Just buy both from Canada. Faculty is 1080i, Dusk is 1080p, both look good and have lossless DTS MA tracks. You likely won't see either for a long time on Blu-ray, if ever. Maybe Disney will sell Mirimax and another studio will release them. At this point, that's the best that will probably happen.

My copy of The Faculty shipped last Wednesday. It should be any day when I get it, but I have other BDs and DVDs I need to get through first so I can patiently wait.

If the Weinsteins' didn't take Miramax with them (only the rights to their franchise properties), I don't think Disney will ever sell that division. There's still some catalog titles sitting in that library which will continue to sell... if Disney would just fucking release them.

And my Canadian BDs have still not shown up. Ugh. Better be today!

Personally, I'd love to see Miramax get sold, but to a studio who knows what to do with the library. There's a lot of titles that I'd love to see on BD, some in their uncut form, but most with the participation of their directors.
However, I hold out some hope due to the mega editions of Clerks and Chasing Amy later this year. Except that I would've loved to see a re-release of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back with all of the extras from DVD plus all of the footage they shot for the television edit for the film which NEVER made it into the television edit.

Got my Canadian BDs and watched Cursed tonight:
Movie - Not as bad as I remembered it. An enjoyable 90 minute thriller.
Picture - Meh. 3 out of 5...and I'm being nice. Picture is very soft, lots of small knicks and marks, and during one scene a blue line right across the picture. It is 1.78:1, which is not the correct AR, but honestly, had I not know it was not 1.78:1 I'd never know.
Audio - 4.5 out of 5. Kick ass. Dialog is a bit low, but an aggressive DTS MA mix.

^I think he knows that - he meant 1.78:1 which is NOT the correct AR (but it does read 'which is NOW the correct AR' so I can see the reason for the confusion).

Got my Faculty from Inetvideo on Tuesday. PQ is not spectacular, but obviously still a huge upgrade from the old non-anamorphic DVD. Audio is great. No extras features or menus as expected from Alliance.

I loved this movie. I'm a huge Kevin Williamson fanatic so anything he writes is good with me. I hope this gets a proper release sometime soon, it was a good film.

Watched The Faculty. It's actually 1080p (menu is 1080i though). The nipple tape is now very obvious with this HD transfer.

Compared to the original DVD the Blu-ray is a huge leap. There are still some specs, scratches and water spots...but I suspect its the best we'll see for a long time.

Got my copy in my PS3 right now. 1080p AVC-encoded transfer with an average bitrate of 23-24mbps.
1080p + DTS-HD 5.1 = best this film has ever looked and sounded on the home video format. Honestly, the HD transfer looks as if it was made years ago from a print that was probably sitting on the shelf for a few years after it's theatrical release.
However, as Gizmo pointed out, this is a huge leap. Since we won't see a US release for quite a while, I'm pleased with the $17 I paid for this.
