Re: Visually Stunning Movies That Haven't Received Blu-Ray Treatment

For visually stunning movies that have not been on Blu-Ray yet, three immediately come to my mind:

What Dreams May Come
Pleasantville
Sound of Music

I thought of Lawrence as well, and I know Dr. Zhivago is also in the works

The Beach
Undertow

two titles I would purchase for the photography alone. Not bad films either, not as good as they could have been.

Re: Visually Stunning Movies That Haven't Received Blu-Ray Treatment

We need to have a R1 Blu-ray release of Dario Argento's Suspiria.

From Wikipedia:
Suspiria is noteworthy for several stylistic flourishes that have become Argento trademarks. The film was made with anamorphic lenses. The production design and cinematography emphasize vivid primary colors, particularly red, creating a deliberately unrealistic, nightmarish setting. This look was emphasized by the use of imbibition Technicolor prints. The imbibition process, used for The Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind, is much more vivid in its color rendition than emulsion-based release prints, therefore enhancing the nightmarish quality of the film.

The film was the final feature film to be processed in Technicolor before the processing plant was closed.

Absolutely 100% agree here. I can't believe it's not out yet.

1492: Conquest of Paradise. The only Ridley Scott movie to have not been released on any format other than VHS and laserdisc.

How many time has it been remastered over the past 20 years? It seems like it gets one every two or three years.

^ I'd want it remastered (PQ wise) and all the extras that the deluxe special edition DVD has.

While I can easily understand that argument (as a lot of those earlier Fox titles have missing extras and inferior MPEG-2 encodes), this thread specifically asked for movies that haven't yet been available on BD, not for ones already available that you'd like to see re-released and improved....that's why the post by "bub" is confusing...

I don't have the disc to personally confirm it, but the reviews at both DVDBeaver and High Def Digest both say it actually has an AVC encode....

Six Days Seven Nights - not a very good movie by any stretch of the imagination however is the definition of visually stunning.

I have no idea. I know the DVD book (beige color) version I have is off in color and supposedly this remaster is going to fix it.
