That's not nuance. The whole movie, Marcus fights against the machines. As soon as he discovers it might have been part of a program to execute a larger plan, what does he do? Fight against the machines some more. Whoop-dee-doo.

Just picked this up at WM for $19.98.

As this hasn't been mentioned yet, the way the discs are set-up:

Disc 1: Theatrical Cut, Maximum Movie Mode, and additional bonus material.
Disc 2: Director's Cut (no extras).
Disc 3: Digital Copy of Theatrical Cut.

Watching the Director's Cut while I clean the house right now. VC1 transfer averaging around 20 mbps looks pretty solid and the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track is loud and booming.

Really wish Warner would give you the digital copy of the Director's / Extended cuts on these discs rather than the Theatrical; but whatever. At least this one is compatible with a Mac unlike some of the last few Warner has put out (Observe and Report).

Wish I saw this earlier!

I was in WM and saw it in the New Releases - looked like it had a slipcover to go along with it. Ordered it from Amazon a few weeks ago, got it today and just opened it a few minutes before I saw your post. Would've liked to have a digital copy for this one, even at a few bucks more.

Got it for $15.99 off Amazon and it arrived promptly on Tuesday.

Haven't watched the disc yet, but looking forward to Maximum Movie Mode and seeing the Director's Cut. It's been 7 months since I saw this in theatres, so I'm looking forward to it and maybe the home video experience and the time passed will change my opinion of it.

Did the copy you got from Amazon not come with a digital copy? The one I got from Amazon did.

Apparently there's two versions of the Blu-ray. I was confused because I assumed it was a 3-disc with slip and digital copy everywhere (mine from Wal-Mart that's in the mail seems to be). But I was at Best Buy last night and they had neither slipcovers or digital copies.

Is it just me or has the consensus changed on this movie recently? I remember thinking it wasn't a bad movie, and actually a very good action movie. All the stuff I'm reading now is how it wasn't that bad, and how people actually respect McG for trying to remain true to the franchise while also trying something new. When it came out in theaters I remember everyone accusing him of 'bastardizing' the whole idea of Terminator.

Is it just me? Anywho, mine should be in from Amazon today. Cannot wait. I really enjoyed this one.

No it's just the people that hate it aren't buying it and aren't participating in this thread.

Except for me of course, who like a sucker bought it because it was cheap on Amazon and of course can't bare to be without a piece of the series on disc. DVDTalk OCD strikes again!

When did you all preorder at Amazon? I ordered awhile back and it shipped on Monday. Just curious on what to expect.

Preordered about 3 weeks ago.

Got the same package as Stan.

The funny thing is I was charged $15.99, but now it's gone up to $16.99.

Which means Warner is on their second pressing already of the title (1st pressings get Slip cover + Digital Copy/DVD). That's pretty messed up. A e-mail to Amazon should either get you a refund or replacement since it was advertised as the Digital Copy version. My copy arrived late (8pm) so I better get the 1st pressing.

thats strange, normally second pressings take weeks. with such a major
title shouldn`t they have anticipated enough copies!?
although i think they only sold as many copies because of the big bargain
price :D
if i don`t receive a sleeve i will be really pissed, as i already preordered like a month ago! as i always try to do with sleeves that i want, because i hate the
stress of chasing them afterwards :)

ps. unfortunately i can`t find anything stating digital copy in the amazon item description, however
the set is listed as having 3 discs!

The low price and likely Wal-mart ordering extra copies could have required a second pressing (plus BD player sales the past few weeks). It's also possible with so many other hit films (Up, Star Trek, Transformers) hitting at the same time they only pressed x amount for Terminator and started a second pressing later after taking care of some of the other bigger titles. I'm not sure what the typical run is now for titles in Q4 (or even Q3) but I'd wager a big Day and Date now usually gets 1.5-2mil. Sometimes more (Transformers 2) or less depending how well the studio feels it will sell. Catalog is obviously much smaller. BD Production is pretty good right now...but with super low prices and lots of people getting BD players they may be running at full capacity.

Or, Warner just got cheap and is now limiting Slip + DC/DVD to the first x thousand/million copies. (My guess)

I looked through my original invoice (mid October) and it does not say Digital Copy in the title (like other titles do - Star Trek, Up etc.). But the listing does say 3 discs...so complain away!

The same thing happened to me. I was really disappointed because I wanted to have the 3 disc set plus the slipcover, instead I just got a 2 disc version with out a slip cover. I honestly never use the digital copy but if it was supposed to be included than I want it.

I contacted amazon about it and they first told me that that not all movies include a slipcover and that they checked on their site and the Terminator Salvation Blu-ray was suppose to be a 2 disc set and not a 3 disc set. I e-mailed them again including the list of features for this title that was posted on their website in which it said "Disc 3: Digital Copy." they e-mailed me back saying that it was a mistake in the description of the movie on their website and they will refund me for the release. I bought the movie for $10.99 with a coupon from them so it's not worth having the movie out for 2 weeks while this is resolved.

I was disappointed but since I don't use the digital copy I guess I can get over it. I did e-mail them again though asking them about the District 9 Blu-ray. I told them I wanted to confirm that it is a 2 disc edition as it is indicated in their site. I told them their pricing was great but I saw that best buy had the three disc slipcover edition for Terminator Salvation BD at their store and I would prefer paying more to get the complete release. Lets see what they reply.

Some of the recent titles have gone to the second pressing rather quickly, so maybe they are changing the slipcover strategy. Trick R' Treat and Orphan spring to mind.

Did they require you to mail Terminator back to them or 'keep it' and give you a refund? While I don't care about the DC, I do like the 3 Disc cases for pet-projects (i.e. older BDs that are missing bonus features found on DVDs etc.)

In TRT case, there was actually a printing error on the Slip covers (and possibly the disc art - I didn't bother checking since the film sucked so much) so that's why it could have been discontinued early.

Post your UPC Codes to see if there is a difference.
