Hero and Iron Monkey will finally be released on Blu Ray disc on September 15. Here is the link to the two releases on Amazon. So excited to get these and hoping they both have the uncut versions or both cuts on the disc.

Iron Monkey has language = English. Fail.

And Hero has language = Cantonese. Fail.

I didn't think there was a Cantonese version of Hero...?

Perhaps it was a Mainland dub?

I'm sure that the specs for Hero are just mislabeled by someone who doesn't understand the difference between the two Chinese dialects. The Crouching Tiger Blu-ray is similarly labeled with "Cantonese PCM 5.1" on the packaging, but the actual disc has a Mandarin Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track. (The disc menus just say "Chinese.")

bad news on "Hero" on BD, the second disc is just a Digital Copy, only 1 new 9 minute featurette, and DTS lossless on the English dub track ONLY, while the Mandarin gets a Dolby 5.1 track.

Even the DVD had a DTS track....

And just found out that Drunken Master and Iron Monkey are the cut versions and that Iron Monkey only has an English dub and no subs.

After hearing this and the news of the Hero soundtrack I cancelled my order for the 4-pack.

I will wait for alternative versions.

Also bummed out about Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon being cropped with the dodgy english subtitles. So close.

I'm not surprised about Drunken Master and Iron Monkey since it was expected to be the same versions that it was released on SD.

However, I'm extremely disappointed on Hero since I expected both the Mandarin and English audio to have the lossless.

Crouching Tiger is not cropped. Yes, on the dodgy subtitles, but the framing is fine.
