Re: Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 - Nov 3

The original Clone Wars started right after Ep 2 with some of the first few battles of the war. Vol 1 ended on a cliffhanger, which Vol 2 resolved, then jumped way ahead to near the end of the war since the events lead directly into the beginning of ROTS (the war lasted about 3 years or so).

Thanks everyone, I guess I will just watch the 2 originals first, followed by movie, followed by season.

Unless you pre-ordered at 30% off from Best Buy before that promotion ended, Amazon is the cheapest by far.

Anyone else having trouble finding this?

Not a single store in my area is carrying the Blu-Ray

Re: Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 - Nov 3

Every Best Buy here is sold out of the Blu-Ray. The local one had the $47.99 price tag up with nothing there. The employee looked at the computer and it showed all locations have some on order.

Target said they're not carrying the Blu-Ray.

Walmart had 2 on the shelf for $45.

I called a couple FYEs and most said they had it for $59.99 with no sales or rebates. One said they didn't have it.

Lets see...if I'm the buyer for a store I think...geeks like Blu-Ray...geeks like Star Wars...but, nah, there won't be any demand for a new Star Wars Blu-Ray, don't order any.

Fry's in Burbank has it for $34.98. They had about 5 sets this morning. Not sure if they are still there or not.

Re: Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 - Nov 3

i think you are probably right, i had gotten an email from amazon overnight saying that there would be a delay in shipment of my clone wars order. and they would notify me when a new ship date is confirmed(something to that effect) well seeing as how i preorderd this way back when they first listed it i called and complained a few hours latter its now moved to shipping shortly.
the strange thing is that it had showed as instock ever since midnight last night so not sure why i got that email.

Yeah I went to Best Buy to get it since my pre-order was marked as Available For Pickup - except it wasn't.

Apparently you didn't need something physical to pick to mark an ordered "picked".

I made them ship it next day free of charge just on the principle.

I didn't see any copies at either Best Buy I was at today, and as previously mentioned, Target is not carrying it....I did see a placeholder for it on the shelf at Walmart with a price tag, but there were not any copies in it (although this was early this morning and they were doing a big reorganization of the whole DVD/CD/games area while I was there)....

No problems for me with Amazon, they shipped my order out with it already....

Typical Warner, they still think "animation" means primarily children and they won't know the difference. They suck. Is it at least OAR (2.35:1)?

why so quick to blame wb, i would think the people incharge of ordering inventory for their retail stores would be more responsible for this.

Well, at least they got something right.

Amity- Yes, it's Warner. They have a history of not providing lossless tracks on TV and (especially) animated releases.

Re: Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 - Nov 3

I dont get your unfounded comments about wb or lucasfilms handling of their animated releases.
they have in the past presented animated shows in there Original Aspect ratio for dvd releases. And unlike some studios animated tv releases they dont just stop after getting half way through a series with no reason given.

so would you care to enlighten me (us) as to why the negativity to wb over animted releases

Re: Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 - Nov 3

what other animated series have been released by wb on bluray (aside from justice league)
the clone wars movie has TrueHD, but that was a theatrical release.
