Which Blu Ray disc do you think has the best image quality?

Blade Runner- Just looked amazing. The balence between the grain and clarity was done almost perfectly.

Indiana Jones 4- Exact saame reason as Blade Runner. However, I do think that Blade Runner looked slightly better.

The Dark Knight IMAX scenes- Just stunning. Breathtaking. The clearest image i've ever seen my projector give off.

A disc that I just recently watched that ranks high up on the PQ scale is Shoot 'Em Up.

Yeah, Blade Runner is great, but I think 2001 is my favorite Blu-Ray. It looks like it was filmed yesterday.

of the three the OP listed- The Imax scenes for TDK are very impressive, however the feature as a whole is less than ideal since the non Imax footage has been digitally degraded to a certain degree. I would vote for Blade Runner as the most impressive while at the same time satisfying.

Of all the titles released so far that I've seen, with no caveats- How The West Was Won.

I never even heard of that film until a few weeks ago, at which time I promptly put it in my Netflix queue. It should be here tomorrow. I've heard it is the best looking BD disc from a lot of peeps.

Baraka is one of the best IMO. Planet Earth is also a great looking one.

Yeah, I was going to say that the 35mm scenes didn't look great, in fact I even typed it, but decided not to mention it. The 35mm scenes do look pretty bad though. Even the colors of the image have changed from the original. I'm hoping for a re- realese in the furture.

The Incredible Hulk look pretty damn good also. The colors are crisp and natural looking and it has a good grain to clarity ratio. Though not as good as Blade Runner. Another Marvel Blu that comes to mind is Iron Man. It looks decent but there is way to much grain and almost zero clarity.

I agree with Crank...the pic quality looks AMAZING...the best i have seen.

I, Robot looks great as well.

Blade Runner also looks awesome for a movie from the 80s.

I have a 2 year old son so I've had the pleasure of watching Disney/Pixar Blu Rays over and over again. My personal favorites are Cars, Ratatouille, and A Bug's Life. Since they are 100% digital transfers, the quality is really top notch.

I disliked Crank's picture quality. But then, I disliked the movie, so maybe that's why I don't remember it fondly.

I'd rank the Lost season set's and other Pixar/Disney releases towards the top, with the Bond restorations and Spider-Man film series also getting high marks. My personal favorite to date though is the IMAX Dark Knight scenes and Kill Bill (both volumes).

Know1ng didn't look that great. There was some edge enhancement in scattered shots (mostly the night scenes) and sometimes the textures looked smeared. I expected it to look better.

If you don't mind lots of intentional grain, Push looks fantastic. The Spirit also looks great.

One of my favorites is still La Haine. I think black & white just looks spectacular in HD. But I also gotta go with my HD fav Kingdom of Heaven. I hope Gladiator looks stunning.

wow, this is tough haha

i think you cant go wrong w/ any of the animated movies (wall-e, cars, nightmare before xmas, corpse bride). I also think speed racer, king kong, pan's labyrinth and sin city look stunning as well.

It's all subjective. I remember The Dark Knight getting stellar (and sometimes perfect) video scores despite all the problems that plague that transfer. I just mentioned what I saw in the video quality of Know1ng and it's nowhere near as great as the all the high praise I'd read before watching the disc. :shrug:

on a technical side 'Knowing' SHOULD look good, it was shot with 4K Red One cameras.

for 'The International' some scenes were shot in 70mm.

I have to check that out. My nephew was an extra in the Guggenheim scene and I was outside the museum watching them film that day. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the movie so I wouldn't own it.
