RE: question about the Blu-ray of "The Wild Bunch"

Hi

I just recently bought this and I noticed that there is a very thin yellow line on the top of the picture throughout most of the film. I was wondering if this is a problem with my specific Blu-ray or if this is a transfer problem. I didn't see any mention of this in any reviews so I was wondering if anyone else has this on their Blu-ray.

thanks for any help on this you can give!

Re: question about the Blu-ray of "The Wild Bunch"

Watched the blu ray last night for the first time. I did not see any sign of a yellow line refered to by the OP but I did notice the transfer is very purple. All fleshtones were purple, the sky frequently appeared purple. Anyone else notice this? Did they skrew around with the color on this release?

Also, on DVD Beaver the screencaps from the blu are missing. Is it just my computer that's having a problem?

Have never noticed any purple color in flesh tones or the sky. You might need to adjust the tint on your TV.

It's your browser. The sceencaps are there.

Re: question about the Blu-ray of "The Wild Bunch"

I've been searching and trying to find out if the original director's cut release of The Wild Bunch is the theatrical release. I'm assuming it is, but of course there are other titles that are director's cuts, but not the original theatrical version. If anyone has any knowledge of this, it would be appreciated...

Re: question about the Blu-ray of "The Wild Bunch"

Thanks...hmm, I had gone to IMDb, but missed this somehow.

In reading that, I guess I'm still somewhat confused in that, is the version we have on blu what audiences in the US saw in theaters back in '69...

i don't think the 1969 version has been released since a vhs or laserdisc pre 1994. The directors cut is the only version that has ever been released on dvd and blu ray

yeah per imdb, the "directors cut" is the european version, as i think either the studio or theaters wanted him to cut a few flashbacks

all that matters is that the cut we have and is popularly use is the DC. Fuck the 1969 version. But I'd welcome it to be WITH the DC just to see wtf that was like..but I'm fine with never seeing it.

Well, my preference is to have the theatrical version of any movie, first and foremost, along with any extended cut, directors cut, etc. But my question has been answered above. Thanks everyone for your input...

Both the CED videodisc released in 1983, and the first laserdisc released in 1984 were the 145-minute version. I'd like to see the 1969 version too just because.
