Picked up Moonrise Kingdom and The Fisher King. Unless it's a MUST-HAVE-NOW title (Mulholland Dr.), I can wait for these 50% off sales.

Same. Mulholland Dr. may be a must-have for me too, doesn't mean I can't wait a few weeks to snag it.

Lady Snowblood looks interesting, I saw mention elsewhere that it was some of the inspiration for Kill Bill?

In for Snowblood and Llewyn Davis. Good month.
I watched The American Friend once. ONCE. That was enough for a lifetime.

Meh, nothing of interest for me.
More Wim Wenders is always good - although I saw his latest film last week and it was just horrible.
Inside Llewyn Davis is a wasted release. Same transfer that's already out, just more extras. It's a niche film to begin with, and a very small subset of that niche will be upgrading for the added supplements. It's 2015, supplements aren't as important as they used to be - even for Criterion fans.

Psshhhhh, on this alone I'm buying the CC version:
The First Hundred Feet, the Last Hundred Feet, a new conversation between filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and directors Joel and Ethan Coen about the evolution of their approach, from Blood Simple to Inside Llewyn Davis

Time to retire my DVDs.
Yup. Tarantino used the song "Flower of Carnage" and the end fight in Kill Bill Volume 1 was inspired by LS.

Depends how you define "bang for the buck". I can buy the current ILD BD for $5 and watch the extras for free - instead of paying 4x more to own extras I'd only watch once.

I'll definitely be down for LS then.

Definitely picking up Lady Snowblood but it will have to wait until next June for B & N's Criterion sale. It's too bad they didn't include an interview with Tarantino about the influence LS has on Kill Bill.

The extras are in the slim side but just having the movie on Blu-ray is enough for me. The AnimEigo DVD release of the movies had excellent subtitles so I'm hoping that Criterion is able to use it.

I have the AnimEgo DVDs, but I will be picking up Lady Snowblood for sure!

Even as a big Coen Bros. fan, the trailer didn't make the film seem very appealing. I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would when I finally caught it on DVD.

I liked Inside Llewyn Davis a lot but already have the current Blu-ray so not sure I'll bother upgrading.

I feel the same way and wound up seeing it because the actual movie I went to see in the theater was sold out. Rather than driving back home with the wife I saw this instead and we both liked it. I would classify it as middle tier Coen Bros.
