So whatever happened with the 2015 tease for what looked to be a Criterion version of Inside Llewyn Davis? Did we figure out that it was referring to another movie with a guy carrying a guitar case and a cat?

I still think Inside Llewyn Davis would be a total waste for Criterion to license. It's a 2013 movie that looks and sounds great... all Criterion will likely add to it are more supplements. So many other films not out on BD they could be spending their time on instead - some of which are also Coen Brothers films.

It's probably still coming. It was rumored well before the drawing so that seemed like a good indication that they are releasing it.

Takashi Murakami is big in the art world. Even those who don't know the art world well know him thanks to Kanye West (he did the album art for Graduation). He's enjoyed all kinds of crossover appeal ever since. This is his first film. Still, I agree, it's a strange choice for Criterion. I don't even recall it playing US theaters.

It was recently revealed that Criterion will be releasing the five hour version of Wim Wenders' Until the End of the World.

Maybe someone at Criterion felt the same way F. Murray Abraham's character did, “I don’t see a lot of money here.”

Here's the blu-ray.com thread discussing UTEOTW and other Wenders releases from Criterion: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=11310399
(Hope it's okay to post here; but I figured some may want confirmation and what other films to expect from Criterion)

I watched the Director's Cut about 10 years ago. It wasn't bad and was definitely interesting... but I really can't see myself needing/wanting to watch it again - especially with it being over 4.5 hours long.

It's still a very flawed work, but the long version is significantly better than the shorter theatrical cut.

Yes, and that's how I watched it. It's just the replay value is very low IMO regardless of how I watch it. Fanny & Alexander (TV version) is longer and even though it was originally aired in 4 parts, I've sat through the whole thing in one sitting a few times. When it's really good, I have the patience.

You could always sign up for Facebook as John Smith with a throwaway email account and take advantage of deals like this.
Unless your name is actually John Smith, then sign up as Joe Smith or whatever.

I wonder how often people named John Smith get erroneous Friend requests on Facebook. Must be hell for them.
