1776 coming on June 2. I'm surprised as I thought Sony farmed out its musicals to Twilight Time.

Strike Back season 3 comes out June 30th.

Probably means season 4 will air on Cinemax sometime in July.

The DUFF is coming out on June 9th, I enjoyed it quite a bit in theatres and look forward to it being on bluray.

Free Willy comes out on August 4th. I remember liking the film a lot as a kid but I'm not sure if it'll hold up. I might pick it up though.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

The Flash season 1 comes out September 22nd

Further Details:
Warner Bros and The CW have announced the Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray/Digital HD) and DVD releases of both The Flash: The Complete First Season and Arrow: The Complete Third Season.

The Flash Season One Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD collections will include:
The Fastest Man Alive!
Creating the Blur
The Chemistry of Emily and Grant Screen Test
Behind the Story: The Trickster Returns!
DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014 Presenting Gotham, The Flash, Constantine, and Arrow
Audio Commentary
Deleted Scenes
Gag Reel

I'll probably get this later on when it gets to below $20. Don't need it right away since I already saw the season already.

Also, Scorpion, which aired on CBS this past season is surprisingly getting a Blu-Ray release. Coming September 1st. CBS has mostly abandoned TV on BD, so this is a surprise.

The fun and adventurous show (renewed for a second season) comes to DVD (6 discs, $64.99 SRP) and high-def Blu-ray Disc (5 discs, $76.99 SRP) on September 1st with Scorpion - Season 1 from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution. Both versions will include UltraViolet digital copy codes, and also included the following list of special features:
Audio commentary by Nick Santora, Nick Wootton, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Sam Hill and Don Tardino
Audio commentary by Nick Santora, Nick Wootton, Ari Stidham, Katherine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Robert Patrick
Building Team Scorpion
Unlikely Heroes: The Making of Scorpion Season 1
When Hetty Meets Scorpion
Chasing the Plane
Meet Team Scorpion
Inside the Brain with Eddie Kaye Thomas
Stunts on Scorpion
Living On The Edge
Deleted Scenes
Gag Reel
Cast "Thank You"

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

The Flash & Scorpion. Two of my favorite new shows. I did have the full season of The Flash on the TiVo but I had them flagged wrong and it recently deleted most of them. So I guess I'll nab the Flash on sale.

So in other words, don't count on them releasing every season. Got it.

I watch Scorpion but am surprised at its sometimes pedestrian, cheesy writing. Probably will not collect this but might rent it for a binge watch on a business trip

Lots of people are unhappy that the second season of The 100 won't be hitting Blu-ray like the first season.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

I accidentally clicked on the DVD Savant link, and Holy Flip(!!!)...THEM! is being released on Blu ray in October. Again, wow, I had kind-of given up any hope of this film receiving a high def release. Also, Son Of Kong, Mighty Joe Young, and The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, this is just awesome news.

Maybe I should not be so quick to give up on my dream of Alligator getting a blu release.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Looks like Harrison Ford's WITNESS is finally coming to Region A in October (Amazon has it up for prebooks). I have the imported version and I hope it's a new transfer. The Region B has a blown-out look to it, IMHO.

None of the prior seasons of NCIS are on Blu-ray though...I don't like mixing formats.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

The Iron Giant is coming out on Blu ray this Fall. There's going to be a Fathom release of it in September. Apparently it will be remastered with new scenes (!?) added to it.

Hopefully the Blu ray will feature the theatrical cut.
