Good news about Cliffhanger, all the inconsistencies and mistakes should be glorious in HD. :) |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
No, I don't go to theaters anymore, but anything with Milla is an automatic buy for me, and Olyphant and Zahn are pluses.
|
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Cliffhanger and Last Action Hero
9 (assuming it's the LittleBigPlanet rip-off and not one of the other 14 9's) should look glorious in HD. |

I wonder why Weeds S5 is being released in January. Usually it comes out in the summer so it's closer to the upcoming season. Showtime has announced a 6th season.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Last Action Hero is a must own.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
which sucks considering how many catalog titles they gave us on hd dvd.
really hope 2010 things pick back up in the catalog releases. cross fingers that black friday and holiday season 2009 will see a exponential increase of bluray in homes to help faciltate all studios getting out more catalog stuff.

If the DTV sells maybe they will bring the Trilogy to BD sometime in the next ten years. Universal really does not give a shit about catalog.

I saw they announced Smokin' Aces to tie-in with the sequel. I know of atleast 10 titles that are 'ready' and have been 'ready' for over a year they have yet to announce. They've missed several tie-ins as well so not sure what they are doing.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
I was seriously hoping on Universal cashing in on the release of "The Lovely Bones" by offering up "The Frighteners" on blu. Both do concern the afterlife... :)

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
^Dude, The Lovely Bones is going to be HUGE. That book alone has a huge following, add in Peter Jackson to the mix and you've got the fanboys too. Huge hit.

What would be the tie-in with Elizabeth? Do you mean the awards season?

Actors etc. appearing in other big films. They missed the obvious tie-in with Curious Case (it was planned...but never finalized).

Which is why I'll believe it when I see it. Not shooting the messenger. Just tired of these two titles getting yanked back and forth. Cate's next movie is "Robin Hood" and that isn't released until May '10.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Is there any word on Road to Perdition? It's included in a trailer with Fight Club.
|
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
I saw on blu-ray.com that it's coming out in Europe in March of next year IIRC. Hopefully a North American release will come out around the same time.

Freeway Killer would have been a whole lot better if it just didn't have the Killer part. The movie with Kiefer and Reese would be an exciting surprise on blu. |

Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus looks to be an amazing film.

I'll definitely netflix it - as well as Post Grad. Walk the Line is a must own. Nothing else on that list really sounds interesting to me. |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Why is The Girl Next Door on that list? IMDB only has one 2004 movie, and it's the one that's already available. I realize it was criticized for its image quality, but I don't see Fox "fixing" it this soon (especially when Patton still needs it).
It's good to see them putting out a couple of Oscar tie-ins again (WTL and TLKOS). Hopefully there will be a few more. |
