Home Alone 2: Lost in New York --> October 6th
Good news for those who've been waiting years for a reissue of this in 16:9, now getting bypassed straight to a Blu-ray release! Haven't seen this in YEARS, I have to say the first one is one of very few films I enjoyed when I was younger that still holds up. John Hughes' last good movie too. I like it, a lot more mean spirited than the first but still good. |

Found out about these 2 weeks ago but didn't want to post until we have 'confirmation' as not to upset some people with my 'zomg you hate Blu-ray and you lie'.
These have been delayed/postponed: 48hrs Escape from la The firm The score k-19 Thanks, Paramount! |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Shit. I was looking forward to both 48 Hrs. and EFLA.

Were DVDs ever delayed this often?

I wonder if Paramount will actually produce some special features for South Park BLU. The DVD was barebones and we never got a Special Edition.
I'd really like to hear a Matt & Trey audio commentary, even if they didn't do a full length one....like the mini-commentaries for the season releases...if they provided enough good info and stories in only 25-30 minutes then I'd be happy...though I imagine they probably do have enough stuff to talk about for the whole running length of this one.... |

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Warner has announced a trio of children's animated titled for release on Blu-ray on October 6: 'A Charlie Brown Christmas', 'Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!' and 'Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (not to be mistaken with the theatrical feature-length movies). All three titles will be released as "Deluxe Editions". 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' will include a bonus Peanuts TV special. 'Horton Hears a Who!' will include the feature-length documentary "In Search of Dr. Seuss", the singalong music video "You Can Heart Horton, Horton Can Hear You!", and two more animated stories based on Dr. Seuss' work: "Dr. Seuss' Butter Battle Book", and "Daisy-Head Mayzie." Apparently missing is a third segment included in the DVD, "Horton Hatches the Egg." Extras for 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' are still unconfirmed. |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
This is what the fourth release of A Charlie Brown Christmas(3 on DVD, 1 Blu)? Just give us the 60's collection with the Deluxe features first time out already.

Nice to see some classic animation on Blu-ray, but Deluxe has me scared these will be priced a bit too high. And how long are these films anyway?

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
A certain David Fincher film has been announced for 10/13. But the first rule is I'm not supposed to talk about it...

Don't be silly. It's obviously a collection of his Paula Abdul videos.
|
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Nah, it's probably gonna be Alien 3. It's not that Copper Blue can't talk about it, it's just that he doesn't want to.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
If it's what I think, to Fox for finally getting around to it.
TDB reported four Trek films, The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, The Undiscovered Country and First Contact will be available separately 9/22. |

LOL. Put them in a boxset called "Trek - Just the Evens".
Then there can be The Odds and Ends Edition with all the others. |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
In addition to "Heat" and "Logan's Run", "The Negotiator" also arrives on November 3rd.
|
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
I love The Negotiator but I'll wait for reviews before I decide if I'm upgrading or not.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Yeah, Negotiator is one of the titles I've had for the longest. Will probably grab when the price is right.
Heat on the other hand is a must-buy. Surprised it's not a digi-book. Wonder if Public Enemies streets the same day too. |
Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Negotiator was an enjoyable movie. I'll be picking this one up.
