Re: Road House - 6/2/09
I think it was Gizmo who posted that it's a two disc set -- the Blu-ray is pretty much bare-bones, and the extras (including the commentaries!) are on a DVD that's packaged with it. If I'm interpreting what was said correctly, the only way to listen to the commentaries is in standard def.

Guess I'll just hold onto my DVD until I find this super cheap.

I wonder if they just produced it a while back when Fox was in their "no extras for you!" mode, so they decided to include the DVD to make up for that.

I wonder if it'll be like The Graduate, which obviously had an old master. I read it's a single layer MPEG-2 with the Anniversary Edition DVD as disc 2.

Well it won't be the last... MGM has a handful of them planned for this year (Childs Play is a recent addition) as well as some not yet announced. If they want to include the DVD inside....fine. But don't include a barebones BD where if you want to watch the special features (or listen to the commentary track) you have to watch the DVD. Stupid, stupid tactic.

I just got this in the mail today, sure the bluray looks and sounds great, but there is no features on it except for the Theatrical trailer, with the dvd including all of the DE extras. And for the best part of all, its Fox's first bluray ecopackaging. I thought blurays wouldn't have to deal with this shitty packaging since its a smaller case, I am pissed.
