"How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" Region B problems
I've had "How to Lose Friends...." for a few weeks now. And just watched it again. This this, I tried to watch the "Extras" for the first time. Deleted scenes, gag reel, etc. And if I choose any of the options under "Extras", the disc freezes up. I have to power off every time. And nothing will play. What the fuck? If there is any one out there that has purchased this disc, have you experienced this problem too?

Not sure I understand the question. But how can I tell if the features are in SD? I do have both an all regional SD player, and a BD player. And I'm playing this on the latter. I just assumed the SD player coudn't play anything on a BD disc.

The video formats supported on BD can either be 480i/p NTSC, 576i/p PAL, 720i/p HD, and 1080i/p HD.
The first two are standard-definition formats and yes, a Blu-ray Disc can include those. In this case, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People is an all region disc with the film in 1080p HD but the extras are in 576i/p PAL. So unless your BD player and/or TV can handle that format, you will only be able to enjoy the commentaries.

The shorter answer is that 1080p supercedes PAL/NTSC signals, so anything high-def on a foreign BD disc will play on an American TV if it's not region-locked (i.e. the movie at the very least), but if the footage is standard-def (as extras often are), then PAL/NTSC come back into play.

I got this when it came out, but haven't opened it yet. I'll check it out when I get home, though hopefully it's not actually Region B as you mentioned in the title or I'll be screwed
