hmm... decided to place the order as is. I've also got blood diamond, phantom of the opera and the departed. Gotta decide if I'm gonna make another order (and buy more hddvds like Xmas story or unforgiven ) or not. Hopefully casablanca will be back up on the site later this year.

I'm hoping I'll get my order someday. I cannot believe they've had this promotion so long and no one has received Casablanca.

This sucks....I bet they just cancel Casablanca and the other titles for people eventually.

It's been 2 months for me and still no discs :( I called them once about a month ago and stuff was back ordered as usual. What a horrible idea...

You might have missed this, but the way they operate is this, if one title of your order is on back-order, your order will not be shipped. The bad part is say that one title now is available, but a different title from your order is now on back-order, you are still in the exact same predicament, no shipment of your order because they didn't hold your available copies waiting for that one to become available again, so that you might not ever get your order shipped if you have multiple titles on back-order.

I have Casablanca, Planet Earth and Matrix all in my order and I've waited exactly as long as you, with the exception I called (866-276-6176). They first offered to split my order and ship the available titles to me PLUS an additional shipping charge. I balked and was then offered no additional shipping charge for the split order.

I received the available titles from the new order from the original split order yesterday. Now, all back-order titles are on the same split order.

Again though, if say Casablanca comes back in stock, they will start shipping that, but not to me because Planet Earth and Matrix from my order are also on back-order. So, eventually they will run out of Casablanca before both Planet Earth and Matrix come back in-stock so that even if they do come back in-stock, my order still will not ship because they are now out of Casablanca, even though they shipped that title to many people who placed their orders for Casablanca well after mine.

Piss poor way of doing things in my opinion. I was notified of this procedure via email and corroborated via a phone call.

Good luck, and call...

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

just called them because planet earth is on back order, they wanted me to pay the extra 6.95 to split the order, asked for the supervisor, she eventually came back and agreed to waive the extra. The inventory is real time so if you only have one on BO they can ship everything else out, so if you have multiple and one comes in i would just put up a fuss until that one is shipped so you don't get into the situation bub describes above.

Some people received it, but I'm not sure how many. Earlier in this thread they confirmed receiving the full Ultimate Edition, and not just the disc like they were expecting to receive...

I remember earlier in this thread people showing the tracking of their covers, routing and re-routing all over the place. I guess I got lucky. Mine arrived 2 days after I sent it... I just sent it on Tuesday, and they got it this morning. I'm shocked!

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I called customer service and I couldn't get them to waive the fee on splitting my order. They said everything was in stock for me except Casablanca, and they actually have set aside the other titles so they won't get sent out while I'm waiting for Casablanca to come in.

She also said if I don't get a shipping confirmation in a week, I should call back and they'll see if they can split the order without a fee.

I got the HP boxset, but did not have Planet Earth in my order.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I sent an email for my second order which just passed 5 weeks since they received my labels, asking why they can't just ship me the items that are available and ship my Matrix 10th later when they get it back in stock.

Their response was that they would try to get authorization to split my order. The next day, I received another email saying they were splitting my order but I would be charged TWO shipping charges. I didn't respond and today I get a call telling me the same thing, order will be split and I would be charged TWO shipping charges.

I let them know in no uncertain terms that I would not be paying one single penny more than the agreed upon price, which was ONE shipping charge. She got snippy and asked if I wanted her to cancel my entire order as that was the only option now, either pay TWO shipping charges or have my entire order canceled. I told her to have her supervisor call me and she replied that her supervisor was right there and she could put him/her on the phone. She put me on hold and after waiting for 5 minutes, I hung up.

I guess the honeymoon is over. The red2blu CSR's started out being very friendly although not being able to help much. Now, after what I am certain is a barrage of angry customers, their responses aren't so pleasant.

I have never received any useful information from any of the CSR's I've dealt with, with the exception of one time. Even supposed supervisors have given me wrong information. All I get is the canned, 'We appreciate your patience.', 'We will ship your order as soon as it is complete.', 'We have absolutely no idea when we can fulfill your order.' and my favorite, 'Your order will ship very soon.'

Again, Grade F to red2blu.

I knew it would take 2 months. Warner store sucks.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I finally called in and had them split my order (Planet Earth was tying it up) and I'll just pay for the extra shipping charge. It's still a good deal and they didn't have to do this at all, so I'm just happy my Blu-rays are on the way. They will be here tomorrow.

Actually, WB was obligated to do this since they said they supported HD DVD, and then did a complete turn around only a few months later. I don't feel special or privileged at all.

I just received an order of 11 movies about 10 days after sending my covers... nothing majorly popular I guess - Matrix Collection, 4 Kubricks, Departed, Batman Begins, Blade Runner, Pan's Labyrinth, Superman Returns, and Corpse Bride.

I'll probably do another order for the Potter movies soon...

 I disagree. I knew there was a chance that Blu-ray might win, as much as I didn't want it to. I got a lot of these HD-DVDs for dirt cheap (or free) and replacing them with new Blus for $5 or so is a great deal. So I'll end up paying another shipping charge, no big whoop. Still way cheaper than replacing the discs myself.

I mean, my HD-DVD discs and player still work. I didn't HAVE to get Blu versions of those movies. It's not like Warner disabled my hardware. This was a courtesy and frankly, I'm glad to have it.

Now Universal and Paramount need to step up and do the same thing.
I'll gladly 'side-grade' (it's really not upgrading) for the same type of pricing structure.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

So, what are the odds WB just cancels some orders (or at least ships them without Casablanca/Planet Earth and we never see them)? Is the $5-$10 really worth it for WB....this is getting ridiculous.

Damnit, I deserved a refund when Pespi fully supported Crystal Pepsi.

If they brought it back, you have no idea how much I'd buy.

I posted this a while back, but I don't think they can cancel any orders without opening themselves up to a class action suit that they would easily lose. First, they took part of the packaging as consideration, so it's not like an online retailer where they can just refund your money. They would have to return the covers to cancel orders.

Second, a lot of people threw away, gave away or sold their movies once they had taken all the required steps to receive replacements in this program. If a court agreed that that was a reasonable action based on Warner's offer, Warner would be legally bound to provide the replacements.

The only way I could see Warner getting away with not providing titles would be if they lost the rights to them during the promotion period, which is unlikely. Even if that happened, I think they'd likely have to provide compensation equal to the value of the titles not shipped.
