Lackluster isn't the word for it. Especially since almost every interview I read talked about stuff being made for the dvd. And from what I've read it seems like they would have had around 30 minutes of deleted footage. This deleted footage will probably appear in the "Killer Cut" though.

The font they used for the words "Killer Cut" is dumb. And there's definitely room for 30 minutes of deleted footage in both the alternate version and the extra deleted scenes.
I'm hoping that main documentary about the movie is around 30 minutes. Two cuts, an hour of documentary features, a trivia track and deleted scenes isn't as bad of a package as people are making it out to be. A commentary would definitely have added to the value though.

I thought I read that the director was making a new cut of the film that would play like a different movie? This extended cut via seemless branching isn't exactly what I pictured.
Never the less, I missed this in theaters and am looking forward to checking it own on BD.

Shitty Blu-Ray cover.
I missed this in the theater but i'm confident this will be a blind buy I won't regret.

I'll probably wind up renting this one just to see it again but honestly I wasn't too impressed with it in the theaters. It just felt like something was lacking throughout and a bunch of little things about it bugged me.

This one seems to reek of double dip. It's not exactly feature loaded, and I know they put together lots of stuff for the BD.
I'll still buy it, but I do agree that the exclusives to BD seem superfluous. 7 Best Deaths? I always hated those "Skip to a Death" features, and I expect more of the same from this.

Newline/Warner is making a sequel, right? Seems like the perfect chance to pop out a re-release.

I liked the theatrical version, but I was looking forward to the alternate cut that they mentioned. I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't deliver.
I'll have to think about whether or not I want to get this release... maybe if there is a good sale or something.
But like most of you mentioned, a double dip is inevitible.

so, wait, I'm really confused, the killer cut edition runs 9 minutes with the censored gore scenes reinstated, but the longer cut with the alternate storyline is speculated to be released at a further date?

It wasn't so much an alternate cut but rather a subplot taken out that they're putting in this extended cut. Also, it's possible that some of the violence and sex may be in alternate takes, compared to the theatrical cut in this extended cut. We've seen films on DVD where that was true, even though the running time was only a few minutes more than the theatrical cut.
9 minutes is a solid chunk of time. Plus, we do get deleted scenes.
