New Warner titles, promotion
Just got an e-mail from Warner Brothers. For the next year or so they are running a promotion where you buy five Blu-rays and get one free. The following count as the "buy fives," and some of these haven't been announced. You go online and enter codes from inserts in each disc.
Anyone see a pattern in the way these are listed? If I had to guess, "Yes Man" starts right now," with "Gran Torino" in June, so it seems like the others will see release in October, with "Harry Potter" on coming this Christmas.

That is a strange list considering many of those titles will not be out for months. And what's up with Horton Hears A Who? That is a 20th Century Fox release. Is there another movie coming out about that story? I received Yes Man today from CH and it had the information about this. If I can pick these titles up from CH with a B1G1F and still qualify for these freebies then it is a no brainer at least for a free title or two.

Horton Hears A Who is likely the animated Dr. Seuss version from the 70s.
Same deal with The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, as the Jim Carrey version was done by Universal.

Why not join Columbia House, then. And then use your 5 purchases towards your fulfillments. You'd be netting much more Blu-ray movies this way.
And take advantage of their B1G1 Blu-ray sales, including free shipping. They will more than likely have another B1G1 sale within the next month.
WB will have their prices so high (I've bought from them before even with a coupon), the 5 titles you guys buy will be over $100 and then some.
Just trying to let you know (or others than come across this thread) there are alternatives to saving $$$.

Ahhh. But this says "any retail location". Do they mean B&M only or online as well. Are we getting some sort of code from places like Walmart and Best Buy or are we entering in info to be found in specially marked Blu-ray discs which are sold everywhere.
Only one free title is available per address per name. I mean really. I'm not sure this is worth the hassle for one free Blu-ray disc.
And this is probably somewhat rare, but I have most of the free titles already on HD DVD. But hopefully WB will update their available titles.
Anyway, we'll see what happens. WB is infamous for screwing things up.

Re: New Warner titles, promotion
DVD Polizei mentioned buying Blus from Columbia House as a way to save money. I am asking if you have to enroll with DVDs, and then buy Blus. I thought that was the case which means no CH for me as I have no interest in ever buying a DVD again unles it is something I KNOW won't be on Blu-ray. Liek the new Jim Norton HBO special.
If I need to enroll with DVDs, what is the point?

Sorry, missed that.
You really blu only? Even if blu-ray was cheaper, I can't imagine doing that. The selection is just way too centered on Hollywood stuff and mainly recent titles at that. I like CH for getting the classic and foreign titles in SD, and then the Hollywood eye candy in BD.

Charlie Brown Christmas? I wonder what's going to be on this release that won't be available elsewhere, necessitating people owning 4 copies* of the 20 minute special.

Kinda sucks that the entire Lord of the Rings only counts as one title. And with a few exceptions, the free titles are mostly "bargain" titles. Meh.

No. You can use the code BLW, but you must call and give the code to a CSR, along with your choices. IIRC, it's 3 Blus for around $20 + 3 more to buy during next 3 years. Good deal if you wait for a Blu BOGO w/free ship.

Re: New Warner titles, promotion
Iam glad to see that WB is starting back one of my favorite promos from the dvd only days. i got many free dvds through promos like this. to bad the movies listed for free are allready in my collection except for that Bam Magera crap(which will never be in my collection) if superman returns is the Tru HD audio version then i would pick that.
i could always get a title and use it to trade, this is a nice list of titles though for those new to blu
