To be fair, this really has nothing to do with Blu-ray specifically. It could just as easily apply to DVD. Overzealous filtering and processing are not inherent to Blu-ray as a format.

That is absolutely true and something this article appears to fail to recognize.

I also loved some of the comments from users. I just don't understand all the anti-BD sentiments... there were even people who didn't like The Godfather Blu-ray. That looked amazing. In particular, however, I found it interesting that someone mentioned how "clean" Spider-Man 3 looked at a store they saw it displayed in -- as if it had the film elements removed. This almost assuredly means it was being given that stupid TV feature that changes the look of movies... I despise that above all else. And that is NOT a problem of the Blu-ray format itself but of TV settings from manufactures and store's allowing TV's to be displayed as such.
