Gran Torino ----> 6/9/09

From dvdtimes.co.uk:

24-03-2009 19:46 | 192 views | Dave Foster

Warner Home Video have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Gran Torino on 9th June 2009. Clint Eastwood (who also directs) stars as Korean War vet Walt Kowalski, a man who doesn’t much like how his life or his neighbourhood has turned out. He especially doesn’t like the people next door, Hmong immigrants from Southeast Asia. But events force Walt to defend those neighbours against a local gang which leads to an unlikely friendship between Walt and a young Hmong teenager who tried to steal Walt's prized possession: a 1972 Gran Torino.

Priced at $28.98 SRP on DVD and $35.99 SRP on Blu-ray Disc, features are outlined below...

Those first two make it sound like this movie was just about the car.

I really liked this movie, so I'll grab the BD first day. Clint kicked some mean ass.

Re: Gran Torino ----> 6/9/09

Just watched the DVD version, and during the Hmong dialogue, there were subtitles on the screen with a font that I haven't seen on Warner releases before. The English SDH also had the same new font.

Is Warner using this for new releases now, or is this just for Gran Torino?
I didn't see this in theaters, so I don't know what the subtitles looked like then.

So, has Warner abandoned the bookmark feature? Both this movie and Friday the 13th don't have it, which really sucks.

The car does a better acting job than most of the supporting cast.

I gave the supporting cast a pass on the acting after watching the behind-the-scenes feature on the disc.
