I'm a whore for anything Green Lantern related, so despite the mediocrity of the DC comic features, I'm totally buying this.

I'm buying 'em all! The DC one's have been pretty good so far. Plus, I'm a total Green Lantern whore. Really looking forward to this one.

So far the only bad animated releases from DC have been Superman Doomsday and that Batman release that was meant as a pseudo-prequel to The Dark Knight. Even Kevin Conroy couldn't save that crapfest.
I'll definitely be getting this and tomorrows release of the Wonder Woman animated movie.

Well that's good to know, Superman Doomsday wasn't all that good and I had been pretty stoked for it too.. But I am a Green Lantern fan, so i'm in for this one as well.

I thought Superman: Doomsday was the weakest and Justice League: The New Frontier the best. I will keep going with this series. I like Green Lantern so we'll see later this year if it's any good.

I am lovin the DC DVDs, have not seen Wonder Woman - sure hope it is going to be good.
Bring on GL, one of my favorite comics, Mike Grell was awesome when he did it in the 70's.

I'm still hoping Timm decides to stick with continuing his old DC universe shows throuh the direct to video films. I know he was really interested in doing so but all of these titles have been seperate from the old universe.

I thought he abandoned the BTAS/STAS/BB/SS/JL/JLU continuity completely in favor of these new seperate titles. That said, it'd be great if he continued it as the series finale to JLU left me wanting more. I'd also like another Batman Beyond feature taking place sometime after (or just before) "Epilogue" in JLU.

He had mentione a few times that it was a possibility that they would continue the DCAU continuity through direct to video films, but he was focusing on Superman: Doomsday at the time. I believe he is contracted for 8 of these direct to video films, of which we know about:
Superman: Doomsday
Justice League: Final Frontier
Batman: Gotham Knight
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern: First Flight
Teen Titans: Judas Contract
Superman: Doomsday
Justice League: Final Frontier
Batman: Gotham Knight
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern: First Flight
Teen Titans: Judas Contract

Wow, I totally forgot about the Teen Titans movie! Wasn't that announced at the time Superman: Doomsday was being made?

Yep, I have no idea what has been taking so long. My guess is that it will be released before Christmas. Looks like an animated movie every six months or so.

Re: Animated Green Lantern coming July 28th
So so far we have
Superman: Doomsday - mediocre
Justice League: Final Frontier - excellent
Batman: Gotham Knight - terrible
Wonder Woman - good but not great or so I've been told
Although not spectacular, that's a pretty good track record.
I wonder on what side of the spectrum Green Lantern: First Flight will end up.
And I hope the long delay on Teen Titans: Judas Contract means we'll get something truly special.
It'd be cool if they did an Outsiders feature as a companion piece to the Teen Titans feature. It'd also be great if Warner Premier would remove the 75 minute limit so they could do a fully realized adaptation of Identity Crisis. I think an animated adaptation of that story would fit in nicely with the features released so far, particularly Justice League: Final Frontier.

At the 2008 ComicCon Timm stated Teen Titans was on hold while they wait and see what kind of demand there was for it. He did mention it when Gotham Knight came out though so I assume it's going to be released eventually.
As for what he might do next:
I'll fall right over if he actually gets a "The Question" film out!
As for what he might do next:
"Personally, I'm much more interested in getting deeper into the back-log of really odd-ball characters like The Question, The New Gods or Jonah Hex. Hopefully, this series will continue to sell well and we'll get there eventually."

I'd definitely be in for The Question and Jonah Hex!
The New Gods is far too large in scope to effectively condense in 74 minutes. Even with the greater breathing room in STAS, JL, and JLU, the universe of The New Gods was never properly represented.

Re: Animated Green Lantern coming July 28th
If we get a live-action Jonah Hex film, I'm sure an animated version will precede it. The Question would be great! And unless they want to devote the proper time to tell a decent New Gods story, they shouldn't even bother.
