Blu-Ray prices dropping?
Here is a little tidbit I found on IMBD:
"A sudden and surprising drop in prices of Blu-ray titles has been detected by several websites, which have noted that some are now comparable to those of their DVD counterparts. The drop in prices was reportedly prompted by plummeting store sales of both Blu-ray discs and DVDs even at a time when prices of Blu-ray players have dropped to below $200. Other analysts have noted that the lower Blu-ray pricing also comes at a time when consumers may be looking for cheaper entertainment in general, given the current economic crisis."

Titles continue to go up and down in price. Sometimes more somethings less. All depends on the titles, promotions etc.

Re: Blu-Ray prices dropping?
It must take a while for it to filter its way up to Canada. According to the latest Best Buy flyer the Blu-Ray's are still $8-$10 more than the DVD.
Interestingly enough, their flyer shows a picture of each of the new releases only in DVD format. Just under each DVD picture, in tiny writing, is "Also on Blu-Ray $31.99".
At Christmas time it was the other way around.
I also noticed they have High School Musical 3 advertised at $29.95 and the Blu-Ray at $34.95.
Hmmm, we'll raise the price of the DVD by seven bucks and make the Blu-Ray appear to be a mere $5.00 more. Is this the brilliant marketing strategy Disney was proposing to kick Blu-Ray into high gear?

Prices dropped unless you were a bargain hound. Nothing has changed for someone who was getting titles for $12-14 already.

Re: Blu-Ray prices dropping?
I've worked with Warner Home Video on some blu-ray projects and know that they keep a list of all their $20 and under titles on warnerblu.com. Check it out, they've got some pretty great stuff on there. It's great to see that everyone else is catching up and starting to lower their prices.
