This may be a rare double-dip for me on BR. This SD DVD looks amazing even on my 106" screen. One of the best looking standard def discs, in my opinion.

i sold it to a person i work with, but you could try putting it on amazon market place or something. the closer you get to 4/21 though the less you will probably get for it since its a barebones disc, with only the theatrical cut on it.

Just sold my Recut DVD set, so I'm ready to upgrade. Hopefully its not too expensive release day.

The Blu-ray was already out - and prominently displayed - at my local big box retailer. Labeled as $35.99, rang up as $29.99.

My Costco had their Sin City Blu-rays out just now ($25.99). But as I expected, their computers would not let me buy it.

a local used video game store had a used copy out last friday. isn't this supposed to officially come out NEXT week?

For Christmas I got the Canadian version of the BD and I'd love to know if the new version, PQ wise looks better. The reviewer gives the transfer a 10/10 so i was wondering how did the Canadian version scored..

I have the 3 disc SD DVD set that came out a while ago so if the picture quality is the same on both discs i'll probably just stick with my Canadian one and the special features on the SD DVD.

So if anyone has both or will have both i'd love to know!

Ralph Potts at AVS, who I'll go out on a limb and say is more reliable than IGN for BD reviews , also gave the US release a perfect score on PQ. I just dumped my Canadian copy off.

My local Wal-Mart had these out today.

I'm double-dipping on this one. The CA version I have is around 15 Mbps, and the US version is DOUBLE the bitrate (basically the same as the Japanese version) of the Canadian release I bought on the cheap. Not saying bitrate is everything, but Jesus. I thought Sin City looked darn good, so with this new release, it should be virtually reference quality.

I'm keeping my CA version for sentimental reasons.

My local FYE had this and Frost/Nixon out already. It was MSRP but with my Backstage Pass I at least saved $4 dollars.

I haven't watched the entire movie yet, but from what I saw, the PQ is amazing.

I have the Canadian version and the PQ was great but it just brought out how fake everything looked. You could see the layers of make-up and everything. Maybe this version will look better somehow but we'll see.

Is this coming out in canada or are we stuck with the alliance one? I can't find anything for this new one on the future shop website.

Yeah, this is not listed on Future Shop or Best Buy (Canada), or HMV.ca for that matter. The only place where I found it was on Amazon.ca. I'm sticking with my Alliance release though as I don't see myself viewing the individual, extended stories much (plus, I have the Extended/Recut DVD release anyway) and the Cdn. vs. US Blu-ray video comparison on DVDBeaver doesn't sway me toward the US release either.

Where is that exactly? I went to the site and boy is that site a freaking mess! Couldn't find anything. I did find a Sin City comparison but they compared it with the Japanese version...
