This movie only lasted about a day or two in theaters.

Do you honestly think they could have made it more bloody?

God help me, as terrible as this flick was the gore and over-the-top violence was endearing enough that I might buy this once it hits $15.

^ It's gory as hell. The violence is seriously out of control. That's a plus in my book.

Downsides? Too many to list.

Re: Punisher Warzone March 17th 2009

After Doomsday and Death Race, I thought it'd be hard to get another gleefully flawed, hyper-violent masterpiece of fun by the end of 2008.

This movie proved me wrong, and was easily better than both of those...well, maybe not quality-wise, but it's arguably a straight-laced comedy that doesn't give a shit if it sucks or not, and that's why it excels.

In other words, I'll be buying this and watching Jigsaw's recruitment scene at least four times when it goes into my PS3.

Re: Punisher Warzone March 17th 2009

So does this mean we'll get the extended cut of the Thomas Jane flick to coincide or at least follow this one?

Slightly off topic, I really wanted to like Doomsday but there's was too much that just didn't work that really obscured the good parts. Death Race was cheesy fun, though.

I hope so, so I can retire the extended DVD, and Theatrical Blu. And while were at it, make a box set including Dolph's version.

I'd love the uncut version of the Dolph Lundgren movie on BD. Just so long as we get a stereo mix this time. I never understood why the R1 DVD of that movie was in mono when the film was mixed in stereo.

^^ Interesting that there is a Directors Commentary after all the talk and rumours about her getting shut out of the film by Lions Gate.

As Patton Oswalt said, this film made me "cackle like a railyard hobo who's found half a cigar and a can of beans." It was aaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome. Can't wait to nab it on BD.
